Do you know what the top two meat offers are? anyone?A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

The pre-stuffed garlic and herb chickens were down to, I think £3.69 and according to the email I got also said pork belly joints were on offer. I think the meat special buys usually come out on Thursdays so if you look on the website under the previous Thursday's (or the next Thursday if planning in advance) you can usually find them there. I really really really wish that Aldi would put their supersix and meat offers out sooner!
We bought the chicken--I know you can get them cheaper as I used to have a yoga class right next to a coop right before woopsie creation hour. I used to find the free-range organic chickens down under £2 and carry them to my yoga class and then stuff them in the freezer--but I don't have a coop around anymore and this is a decent sized chicken. Usually we don't really like the pre-stuffed things but we do this one.0 -
Loving the ideas coming through on this thread :T. I regularly buy the Super 6 then sit for ages trawling through recipes trying to come up with new ideas to use them – so I’ll be following this thread with interest.
I don’t do puddings/desserts very often, preferring fruit in its raw state or stewed to have with porridge or yoghurt for breakfasts.
But one recipe I did enjoy was Pineapple rice – bbc good food website (sorry can’t do links) basically it’s a stir-fried rice, mildly spiced with curry powder, it went really well with jerk chicken, grilled pork and gammon :drool:Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

I got two packs of the plums yesterday and stewed them with a little orange juice and sugar. Some was used for pudding yesterday, served with custard, and the rest boiled up again with some extra sugar to make plum jam, just enough for a jar full. One life - your life - live it!0

Thinking of making these next week:

Not necessarily to this recipe, it just occurred to me earlier and that was what I found. Hopefully I'll come up with some meat-free ideas as well as a couple of overspends means we need to get our shopping budget down by £3 a week for the next few weeks--shouldn't be too much of a challenge:D0 -

I was disappointed that they changed to fruit as well, but my insider tells me that they do this when they can't buy enough or the price is too expensiveBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
