Thanks Nutella. Will give them a go x

Let me know how you get on - I'm planning to make some next week :) If they taste as good as they look, LO will have to fight to get some!

    Hi ladies

I think we have some back teeth on the way, A was upset in the night and putting his hands in his mouth, coughing too which is usually a sogn. OH is working today so just me and little one. Think we are going to pop to boots and stock up on nappies then come home and make those cereal biscuots.

Hope you all have a good bank holiday :) we were plannong west mids safari park but weather looks rubbish :(

Evening ladies - sure is wet out! We still had a lovely day out as visited two indoor places near Margate that had been on the "to visit" list for ages. LO was very good too - napped in the car on the long trips and played happily whilst we had lunch and the short trip between the two places. Think we've finally cracked the bottle thing - WOOHOO!!!!
OH gave her a bottle of ebm at 6 weeks which she took, so he then said she doesn't need to have it again unless we need someone else to feed her. He finally tried again at around 12 weeks and she went ballistic and flatly refused. I've been trying her every couple of days whilst she's in her chair - just letting her play with it really but having a little. The other evening, driving back from a family do we got stuck on the M25 and she was screaming and screaming. Eventually I offered her boob by contorting myself over her carseat whilst we were both strapped in. Obviously this isn't ideal and so on long journeys we're taking a bottle of ebm with... took one today and she slept the whole way! But I'm not wasting that bottle! So... OH has just fed it to her whilst I'm in the room and she's drained the bottle!!!! So happy!!!

Take care if you're out and about ladies

    Yay Saf - that's fab! :T
  • Evening ladies,

Weaning question for you, I've read somewhere to start from 26 weeks but then just read "if your baby isn't enjoying solids by 26 weeks speak to your hv"

My lo has stopped having as much milk, I'm feeding him every 3 hrs and he's having about 800-850 a day (feeding guide on milk tin says 210ml 5 times a day) so he isn't drinking all of that amount. I know he could easily go 4 hours between feeds. He drinks the milk when I offer it but he doesn't nessasarily cry for it!

So basically I'm asking do you start before 26 weeks because he's less interested in milk now, his nights aren't as great, not nessasarily wanting a feed but just not as settled, watched me eat and gums all of his toys!

mrsA - we started baby led weaning, essentially sitting him at table with us and giving him our food to play with. As for the 'signs' you've listed, some could be due to other things not necessarily wanting food imo.

by going baby led you can start easily without worrying about how much he's eating at first.

    how old is he now?

I'd start offering food then - but as I said we did BLW so it was all up to him whether or not he ate it at first. We started with fruit and veg, it might still be a good idea to wait till 6mo for gluten/dairy/protein; but the jury's probably out. From 6 mo it seems anything goes, so long as there's not much salt in it and there's no honey in it.

PS - this gets messy very quickly. You will want to feed him mostly naked and/or with some long sleeved bibs. Ikea has some good cheap ones, but they've annoyingly made the neck fastening velcro longer on the hook side than the loop side so if you wash them in the machine they cling to the rest of your washing...

Good luck on the BLW front Mrsh2b. It's a lot of playing to begin with so just enjoy it.

Can anyone recommend and cheap toys for 9-12mo? We've not actually bought any. And with his birthday and Christmas being together we'll have to invest in some mid year.
