I'm 25 and about as far South West as you can get.

I've only been to one baby group so far as LO is only 5 weeks plus loads seem to have stopped over the summer which is annoying. It seemed really cliquey, I'm going to give it one more go but wasn't impressed :(

Ah that's a shame, there are loads of groups that aren't clicky so don't let it put you off. The baby groups I take my little one to have stopped over the summer too :( I miss taking him when they aren't on.

  • Morning all,

Hope everyone had a good night... Ours is getting better, Oliver is 6 months now and has about 12 hours a night with 1 or 2 wake ups, but teeth seem to be causing a few problems lately!

Fluff, I'll def be up for next meet, will be good to put a face to the names!

Can I ask a little advice? We have just started weaning (baby led), its great fun and very messy... I give Oliver a bath every night after dinner, but he looks like he needs one after breakfast too! I don't want to bath him too often, what does everyone else do? I have tried wipes but he still seems sticky!

    Me x

Delain I know you take your girlies to the library often, are they taking part in the Creepy House reading challenge over the summer?

Sorry just had a quick skim. Jumperoo definitely over a sit in walker, they're really not recommended, but the V Tech walker is very good when they're learning to walk.

I am at my wits end today, and it's only 11.50. I seriously want to cry. Some point last night A took all his clothes and nappy off and has weed all over the bed, all night. We had a viewer at 11 this morning so we had to get out sharp, he proceeded to throw his porridge, all over the kitchen. I was running around like a maniac trying to clean that and get out to miss the viewer. So dashed around town, got skinny fit pjs to hopefully eliminate the night time issues and a new pack of poppered vests, which we had given up on.

    *sigh*

My ds2 is doing it but my eldest doesn't want to. He would end up choosing 'spot the dog' and probably not even bother reading it anyway.......he is a nightmare!

We have read 2 here, got the first stickers at the weekend and 2 new books :)

Elisabeth, re eating and needing a bath, are you using coverall bibs with sleeves? They're fab :) As for cleaning, I find a combination of a good old soft face cloth & water, and Sainsbury's Little Ones face & hand wipes do the trick most of the time, the exception being when she decides to clean her hands on her hair - she's got masses of curls and food sticks to it like glue!

Gilly, sending you a big hug x

Aw Gilly, sounds like a cr*ppy morning. Is it raining where you are too just to finish you off?
    Hopefully the afternoon will improve.x

Why aren't walkers recommended? They are still for sale in lots of places. I've seen the info about why Bumbos have safety issues but not heard of anything about walkers.

Apparently they actually hinder walking, rather than help. My paedatrician warned me off them. They also recommend 15 mins twice a day as the very max you should put them in them, so take up a lot of space for little use :o
