LO is teething
Last night was terrible - lots of tears and about 3 hours sleep broken up into 20-30 minute slots throughout the night. Work was a bif of a slog today
She had a temperature at nursery today but was otherwise happy, so I really really hope she sleeps tonight for her own sake as well as mine. OH is doing night shifts this week, so he's escaping it all...
On that jolly note, I'm off to bed. Fingers crossed!
Night all x0 -
Hi All
Hope you have a better night Nutellawe had two screaming episodes last night too, think its the back teeth again here. I feel ever so sorry for him, there is literally nothing more I can do other than calpol/nurofen etc....good job they don't remeber it hey.
Hope everyone is well. Me and OH are off work next week :j a whole week with my little scampygot lots planned, hopefully the weather is nice for us.
Quick question, anyone tried the 5:2 diet? I weighed myself today and I am half a stone heavier than when I went back to work...not good!! I've read some good and bad reviews on it but wondered if anyone had any direct experience?

In the year prior to getting pregnant I lost 3st
It's something I'm massively proud of, was a lot of hard work but I got major sense of achievement from doing it. I'm probably going to sound a bit 'blah blah blah' but the only way to lose it & keep it off is through a healthy balanced diet & exercise, mainly because it's achievable to maintain as a healthy lifestyle whereas most diets are not sustainable as a lifestyle. I kept a food diary, allowed myself one 'yellow meal' a week which was so called because it was highlighted on my diary so that once I'd had it, I'd had it & couldn't repeat it! That meal could be anything, a takeaway, a meal out, full 3 courses, anything. It helped & meant I never felt like I was denying myself anything. Keeping an eye on portion size was a big thing too, they seemed to have got bigger & bigger but I didn't really need it all, I was just eating it because it was there. And on top of eating well, I increased my exercise too. It's been hard work but the 3st is off, it's stayed off & there's not a chance in hell it's going back on again. Sorry if I sound like I'm preaching, I don't mean to, I'm just proud of what I achieved & want to help others do the same if they want to

I must admit, we only have semi skimmed in, seems such a faff having two lots of milk just for the splash he gets on cereal! But then I'm still feeding, so I guess I'll rethink when I actually give him milk to drink regularly. He's tried it and liked it well enough.
Have you tried warming it up at all? I left a mug I'd warmed some milk for porridge in on the table, with a little left in the bottom. Not as far over as I thought, as I came back to find shorty polishing it off! I notice he didn't spill that everywhere!
Mrs B, I also lost an awful lot of weight, so the extra half a stone of seemingly unshiftable baby weight is really getting me down! I've started trying to exercise every day, but it's hard to make time.0 -
Lola, would you consider formula instead of cows' milk? I know it's more expensive and a bit more hassle, but your LO might prefer the taste. Freddie loves formula almost as much as he loves booby. Some paediatricians suggest they should have formula (or breast milk) until they're two anyway.
On the subject of tummy problems, mine's been a bit dodgy since Freddie was born. Lots more indigestion and pain than I used to get. Hormones innit."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Hey fluff, I went to the doctors yesterday had two really bad episodes of trapped wind in my chest, to the point of not being able to hold or lift lo up! I was in agony, really got me down. She's given me some tablets to help and some orange sachets to drink, for you know what, it's a miracle having a baby, but it doesn't half mess your body up!!Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0

My doctor said "having babies/kids is terrible for your health":D:rotfl: ...and went on to say it's something he refrains from mentioning to expectant mothers!! He said he sees more tendon and ligament complaints from people holding babies than anything else for a start...! It's a good job these little people are so cute isn't it!0

Yay for time off !:T Maybe we could get Moneypenny to do her special sundance for you?
Hope your night was OK? Ours was much better than feared, in fact I'd say it was good! Had a couple of dummy requests, but apart from that she slept all night :j Up for the day at 5.15, but that's normal and I can live with that if I've actually had some sleep.
Today's my day off - LO and I have just been out for a walk (via the Royal Mail sorting office to pick up a missed delivery) and she's now asleep in the buggy. I've lots of housework to do, but can't get much done right now as I'm having to be quiet (OH is also asleep as he's been working all night), so instead I'm having a coffee and catching up on hereJust ordered a toy box for the living room - same as the one she has in her bedroom as I love it
Hope everyone has a good day x0 -
I just ordered one of those air cot bumpers from SleepSafe (or something like that), she keeps throwing the dummy between the bars and requesting it, so hopefully that will solve the problem, plus the getting arms and legs trapped during naps, I only put the sleeping bag at night. It's like a padded mesh fabric 100% cotton. I tried to find material to make it myself but all I could find was nylon and stiff mesh for tutus and the likes, so at the end I gave in and paid the £25. It saves me doing it as well, as I have a massive to-do list!!
She suddenly is doing a 90 min lunch nap, she was doing 39-40 min in all her naps lately, so I consider this an improvement and hope it lasts and increases! It's giving me the chance to have a short nap too. Twice in a row it has happened, I'm meeting someone later in the centre, I hope she has that nap just before we leave, so I don't disrupt the pattern if there's to be one!

Morning all,
Thank you for all you posts if encouragement and support about breastfeeding and Oliver's weight. When he was born and for first month he was on the 75th centile. Then he dropped to 50th for a few weeks... Then last week when hv cane to visit me for my mood check she weighed him and he had dropped to the 25th centile.
I love the bond of breastfeeding, but Oliver does bob on and off the boob a lot, he's very fussy. It got to the stage that he would have a few mins then pull off cry and not re-latch. I have no idea why, I burp him, change his position but nothing works... Maybe that's why he hadn't gained as much. However, since the weekend I've decided to try and relax more and not force it and he's been feeding much better!
Anyone else have a fussy feeder? Any clues as to why he would pull off so much?
Had jabs yesterday which was awful, but went for a lovely walk in the sunshine I. The afternoon and fe seemed ok. He slept well so the fresh air obv did him good.
He's very sleepy this morning, but hopefully he'll stir shortly because we need to get ready for baby yoga!
How did everyone's lo's get into sleep/nap routines? Is it something you implemented or did they naturally fall into their own routine? I know Oliver is too young for set nap and sleep times, but just curious at what age others started.
Anyway, have a lovely day everyone x0
