I think the problem (or at least mine when I have read your posts on this) is that its fine if because of this info you don't want to vaccinate your child but why bother putting this info out there if your not pushing it on others? It feels like scaremongering because your putting it here. Surely if I wanted to do research I would do! However I know that I was vaccinated and have been fine and know that I will vaccinate my child because I would hate for them to get measles etc. leave your views off this thread and you won't be accused of scaremongering! If ladies wish to know about the vaccines I'm sure theyll google it!

Don't want to get involved in this heated debate, but I don't think its fair for people to feel unable to put their views on any relevant issue on this thread, surely that's the whole point! Its down to us all as individual parents to come to our own conclusions. My daughter has had all vaccines, I've found some of the links provided on this thread interesting though and don't feel people shouldn't post if they don't have the same opinions as the majority.

personally have no issues with regard to what kind of cells are used to do my vaccine. I'm an organ donor, I think it's pretty much the same, no one died to create a vaccine. Better to use any cell to save lives than to go in the bin. I wanted to donate my placenta and cord blood but my hospital didn't have the resources to do that. I think the word "baby" there might be overplayed, we are probably talking about the first stages of development, and it's probably about parents donating the tissue to science in order to save lives, instead of what the line "vaccines made of aborted babies" might seem to suggest. Cancer research is advancing thanks to similar cells, no one is killing no one to provide vaccines.

In any case, I would be sad seeing anyone go. Fluff, I for one dislike vaccines on myself, but would put them on lo. Although I think my main issue are needles. I don't know if vaccines in Spain are/were different, but I had every single childhood illness after I was vaccinated. That said, it probably wasn't that bad because I had been vaccinated. At least now I know that no matter what my lo brings, I'm probably immunized!!!

And I'd miss greatly Freddie's pics and news. You know how to bring a smile and sometimes believe me or not, this thread is what helps me to survive the day until my DH is back from work. I really hope you stay.

My lo rolls completely from back to front. She found out whilst sleeping, she woke up face planted on the mattress and cried for help, lol. She did it again during a nap but she was dead happy sticking her head up. I'm struggling with nappy change since because she wants to do it every time she's laying flat. She also has a new range of sounds that involve sticking her tongue out. And I had to remove the big pillow from below the jumperoo because she now suddenly can almost touch the floor! She's been doing a lot of growing up this week!!

From memory, I've only written three times. One was replying to a statement someone made in favour of vaccines one was replying to a statement someone made against vaccines. Both times I was (I hope politely) partially disagreeing with the statements made so it's not like I came out in favour or against in those posts. The third was an answer to a direct question as a result of an incidental comment I had made to indicate a lack of knowledge in a specific area. (The reason I made that comment was a. to indicate my incomplete knowledge so that people would do their own research and not go off what I said and b. to invite others to contradict me with evidence/information to the contrary.) I'm sure people will google but all my posts were in response to others either making statements or asking direct questions. At this point we don't know whether fluffnutter did say that I was scaremongering but presumably based on your post, you think I was so please could you tell me so that I know for the future which specific information I gave that was scaremongering. None of the information I have shared has changed my views of vaccination or caused me to not vaccinate except for rubella which only poses a risk during pregnancy so my daughters are free to make their own choice as adults anyway so I don't really understand your comment about getting measles etc. I'm also a bit confused as to why you think I should not share my views by giving information as part of a discussion when it is clearly okay for others including you to state your views. Could you explain what information I shared was the problem and why so that I can avoid this issue in future as I don't want to cause problems by sharing information about a topic under open discussion. Thank you for your help.

How is she liking the jumperoo?

I remember my little one trying to roll over during EVERY nappy change, now if I'm not quick enough or let go of him for a split second he's crawling away laughing whether he's been cleaned up or not. :o

Dizzi - Im not sure what feed thickener you are using. we used carobel for around 10/11 months. I had to use size 3 mam teats with it but it didnt cause any constipation issues or anything as its natural stuff. If you go for anti reflux milk we couldnt add thickener to it.

Also gaining weight can suggest reflux, we gained beautifully because he never stopped feeding. he fed constantly to cool the burning so was gaining like mad. Any questions or anything I can try to help :)

:rotfl: they can be annoying little creatures at times!

Little man has found his 'boy bits' too so I have literally 3 seconds to clean around them before he has got a handful. :p

I think she loves it! Sometimes she starts shy, looking around at things and grabbing the toys more to keep the balance than to play, but then after a bit she starts chatting and bouncing like crazy. We had a few laughs so far looking at her :D

She's been twisting her body during nappy change for a few weeks, the tv is behind and she gets curious, but since last night she goes all the way. She was like in a "snake" yoga position for a good while when she woke up from the 2min nap this afternoon. She was so excited that there was no way she would nap for any longer, despite having slept nothing at all. So she had another hour of chatting and jumperooing before she managed to feel sleepy again. She's fighting her naps a lot, I think she's too excited by all the new things she can do and doesn't want to sleep. How is your son?

I find if you have something (like their trousers or a clean wipe) you can cover their eyes with it and say oh where have you gone and turn it into peepo most times they will laugh and not run off.

I guess we all know my feelings all ready but for every 'vaccines are bad!' site there's 50 good sites that tell you the facts, not the conspiracies. I'm bailing out of this thread now. Wanting to be informed about health so you can keep your babies safe is one thing. Promoting hysterical anti-science, anti-medicine scare-mongering shite about vaccines is another altogether and I want no part of it.

As far as I am aware, everyone who is commenting about this is having their child vaccinated. Just because they happen to choose a different schedule to the official one doesn't make them anti vaccine or hysterical. Both Turtlemoose and myself are prepared to pay hundreds of pounds to have a vaccine schedule we are happy with. If people want to know the reasoning, I'd like to be able to explain without being condemned.

I don't feel we are told enough about vaccines. Anyone here told that giving calpol beforehand 'just in case' can affect the immune response? Or having fewer vaccines at once, with a greater gap between them, means a better immune response?
