Nokia N95 - YES OR NO
Comments
-
Qwerty keyboards are generally smartphones or windows mobile - ALL have rubbish battery life.
"Rubbish" compared to the average phone yes, but MDA/XDA/SPVs generally last for more than 24 hours, which is more than testers can say for the N95.Good point. Why would you not want to transfer pictures onto PC? N95 screen is big - but you still want to see what they look like on a bigger screen. Do you not transfer pics from your digital camera to PC?
For most people this will be digital camera replacement.
If you want it to replace your digital camera then fair enough, but I personally will stick with my Cybershot for holiday and special occasion snapsIncorrect - you obviously haven't done your homework. Network branding screws phone up like there is no tomorrow! Far from slow - new OS is now real quick and zippy. Ok camera takes time loading up but once loaded pretty quick - just like a digital camera you have to set it up first; sports mode, night mode.............. obviously. And is quick at taking pics. Just like a digital camera.
I'm basing my experience on an unlocked N95 that I've had a fiddle with. It's far slower than my (T-Mobile branded) WM phone and froze on me more than one occasion, so for the time being I remain unconvinced.Yeah on contract wayyyyyy overpriced - but think about what you're getting! On ebay £300 MAX. so cheap.
I wouldn't complain either if the N95 was only £300 - but you have no idea where the phone's come from. Dodgy dealers, phone reported stolen after you've bought it, or the phone is extremely temperamental and only works 20% of the time. You don't know, but it can happen.Have you seen the size of a damn MDA? it's enourmous! No wonder it's got a (slightly) better battery life - it's gigantic!
Oh and you forgot about GPS, DVD quality recording. VOIP and WIFI........Try fitting a 'decent camera MP3 player and a mid range phone' a GPS device and camcorder in your jeans pocket........
........didn't think you could!
Actually... the N95 isn't that much smaller than my MDA (Vario II). In terms of features my Vario II has:
Video recording - not DVD quality by any means, but I'm not set to be the next Woody Allen
GPS - check
VOIP - check
WiFi - check0
