Gwen, that's really spot on, I think.

My anxiety started at school, and was particularly bad when I had exams. I would look through the questions and feel so overwhelmed by the task ahead of me that I'd just freeze, and it would take me such a long time to even start writing. I sometimes ran out of time at the end of exams because I'd wasted so long panicking before getting on with answering the questions.

My trick then, and I still sort of do this, was to think 'I just need to make a start. If I just write my name on the exam paper, I will have started, and broken the 'anxiety-inaction' cycle.

I still 'just write my name' (ie do the smallest, simplest task possible, just to get me started) as a way to cope with feeling like it's all too much and I can't do it (whatever 'it' happens to be).

It doesn't always work, but often it does. If I could write, I'd write a book about anxiety, and call it 'Just write your name', I think. :rotfl:

    Hi Buffy!

I.m back! Haven't had the chance to read the whole diary but am so sorry you've been having a tough time. But am so pleased that you have found such a lovely fella - you really do deserve the happiness he brings you.

Doing those things that seem to just sit there, to,taunt you are horrid. I have a,pile of work magazines that are six months old. They have been on my 'to do' list every week but I never seem to get to them. I really like your three things a day aproach.

Keep going Buffy - accept the help available. You have fought and managed and succeeded for all the time we've known each other. For all that you give to others - take some back for you.

I hope that Easter gives you some respite and lots of time with the lovely BF.

  • Oh Urg, I just read your news, so sorry about your Granxxxx. Huge congratulations for baby tho that is lovely news.

Snaggles, I like the write your name thing.....must remember that. I haven't been here much the last few days, end of term RUSH plus wedding plus night away with man.

One thing about the last few days, it has brought my life into sharp relief.

My friends moving on, married etc. Me well.

As I have said before this diary isn't really about the big things so I shall not go into detail.

Suffice to say I moved some money around last night, set up an extra payment on the loan so I am now paying off 500 a month instead of the 214 they set up.

And I have no CC debt. < pleased about that.

On Tuesday I am going to the bank to open an ISA account, something I have put off for AGES.

any how although I bought Easter eggs I left them in the man's car like a fool and now have to dash out to buy some.....don't fancy my chances.

I am feeling very anxious today. Just would like to sleep and relax. Flipping headache for main part of the weekend, went when with man and came back when I came home............................

    three things.

    hmmm.

    1. shower
    2. tidy up living room
    3. Easter shopping.
    Nevertheless she persisted.

    HI Buffy

    Happy Easter to you too!

You may be lucky with the eggs - my local Tesco extra had some last night.

Well done on the all the money moves forward - including the overpayments on the loan. It's great that you are making the inroads towards that you are.

Re the headaches - it sounds like you are a lot less stressed when you are with BF:blushing:. What a great thing - spend lots more time with him!!!!

    Catch up soon.

  • Just popping in with a little post.

I am beginning the week of decluttering starting with my room and the various small furies.

I have promised myself this week for about 2 months now!

The lump on my nose has flared up again which is depressing me and making me anxious. I do need to get it sorted but 80% of the time it has been fine but it was dreadful today. Makes me so unhappy. I am really afraid the scar will be worse and there will be no way of making it better. Ugh. makes me cry - mental when there are so many worse things in the world.

BF not feeling well. he worries me. I like him so much I panic when he says he feels ill. Just want to be with him.

(was Franny Craddock drunk when she cooked on tv??)

(Mary Berry Story - cool woman!)

anyhow soppy stuff aside I have felt anxious all day and need some sleep.

Money wise I spent loads today, booked another series of Facials. *should* keep me in facials till September. Should......

must pay off the facials money tomorrow

    too sleepy now.

    xxx
