Thanks for your words of encouragement.

It's strange to be feeling this strongly as since about the 2nd week of giving up I haven't really had any tempting thoughts - which is pretty astonishing!

The thing with tonight in particular is the thought of 'being naughty' in a childish sense. I can't really explain it, but maybe you know what I mean.

If I can get to about 7pm, I think I shall be OK - I'll have a bath and settle down to Eastenders and then wont want to go out to the shops to buy any......!

definately being [STRIKE]knocked up[/STRIKE] with child is definately a great motivator...as is evil-Guilt looks from the other half if i even consider having a puff on someone elses...!

and yes i've seen the price of prams !!!! but at £10 a day i might be able to afford a pink silver cross one just like Charlotte Church !! (I think not about the pink pram not the being able to afford one....)

and as i'm not drinking either !!! I'm not going to the pub so often so that helps....

I'm new to this thread, but need a little help.

I gave up smoking on 2nd Jan this year. Decided to stop, and just stopped without any 'help' (patches, gum etc).

Have done really well I think, apart from gaining a few pounds (and saving a few!).

Anyway, the thing is, my 2 kids are both away tonight and I have the house to myself for the first time ever. All I've been thinking about for the last couple of days is getting a 10 pack and standing outside all evening. I can't stop thinking about it!

:D Are you my alter-ego??? That was exactly what I was thinkng last Friday night - no-one need ever know right? You could smoke them ALL, stood outside, enjoying a smoke, no-one to worry about, who cares if you are smelly right?

    Happy Days :j

WE care, YOU care, and every reason that you ever had for giving up is still there.

There will be someone here if you need a chat. I suggest you don't go anywhere near a shop and get yourself settled down in whatever way relaxes you most...a paper, a magazine, some chocolate, a big bowl of chicken soup?

We will be cheering you on and we will most of all be looking forward to you coming back tomorrow to tell us that you didn't crack :T

:hello: Hello all you loverley newbies :hello:
You won't find a better place to have a moan or give yourself a pat on the back in the company of people who understand.

carole - you have got me painting like a possessed thing - I was at it for 4 hours last night...my back hurts from being hunched over...but I am SOOOO relaxed :A

I'm hoping that I will be distracted tonight from wanting a cigarette as I am seeing The Automatic in Hull :D

The itchy fingers are kicking in at the moment as I would be having a cigarette break at this moment in time.

I'm fine honest, gritting teeth lol :D

  • Hey FiBe (do you say it as fibe or fee-bee?)

Keep going, you are doing great! Grit your teeth or anything else that gets you through...;)

You need to change your sig though - as of today you ARE a non-smoker (or a least a wannabe one lol):D

I say it fee-bee (as in "phoebe").

Thanks everyone for your positive comments and encouragement.

I have to admit I think it is more the breaking of the habit than the actual smoking that is bugging me . Anyhoo I'm off to get ready for the gig so catch you later
