94 days for me today with a cash saving of approx.. £700. I have now cut down to 1/2 a champix a day, the side affect I had most problems with was sleeping, and from day 43 to 46 I felt quite depressed and alone.
I have found out since its called no mans land, its around that time when encouragement has stopped your friends and family think you have done it, and you actually realize that you are not going to smoke again and although thats what you want, its also very much like a bereavement the loss of an old friend, but then it gets better and better and the sense of freedom is wonderful.Low Carb High Fat is the way forward I lost 80 lbs
Since first using Martins I have saved thousands0 -
Bigears- was it nice ?? I keep thinking if I have a couple of drags will the itchiness of wanting one go away? has it?
Speaking as someone who has several of "the T-shirts", you will find that it tastes like !!!! and you'll be seriously !!!!!! off with yourself. There is no nicotine left in your system by now, so any addiction is mental, not physical.
Congratulations. You are a non-smoker. :TIf you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Yes I feel it is like a bereavement, which is totally silly really. Just can't imagine going on holiday without my ciggies - it won't be the same, but hopefully by then I won't care. How long do you stay on the Champix for?Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
I have read his 'cooking' threads over on Old Style. They are some of the funniest things I have ever read. You should take a look.
Why thank you.You could at least have posted a link, like this one.

You can expect to want a fag. As long as you recognise that, it's fine. You just have to think: "I am experiencing a craving for nicotine. If I ignore it, it will go away in a bit." Pop off and make a cup of tea or something - it'll be gone by the time you've done.compulsivespender79 wrote:What I want to know is; has anyone read 'Easy Way to Stop Smoking'? And if so, did it work for you.
Yes, I stopped for about 18 months after reading it. It was very easy. Stupidly, I started again. That set me back another 5 years while I got my head back in the right frame of mind again.
I can sum up the main gist of the book fairly easily: "Don't put cigarettes into your mouth and light them."melbury wrote:Mr. Carr seems to imply that because I have stopped cold turkey using willpower alone I will fail!
I disagree. I think one of his main points is that nicotine replacement therapy should be avoided, as it maintains the addiction to nicotine. You might stop smoking, but then you have to quit the therapy. Personally, I agree - I think cold turkey's the best way. However, nicotine replacement clearly assists some people, and I wouldn't dream of knocking any way that worked for someone. Maybe it'll suit you, maybe it won't.

I do those too, but cakes seem to work quite well.I've been in the kitchen a lot lately, as it keeps me mind off the ciggies.
