Bigears- was it nice ?? I keep thinking if I have a couple of drags will the itchiness of wanting one go away? has it?
NNNNooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It certainly won't, Basilcat - AND you'll feel dreadful afterwards. An itch is the perfect way to think of it. Scratch it and you're still itchy. Leave it alone and it will stop, you just have to not 'scratch' for a little while and the itch will go away. Please stay strong.
Hello to cardigirl, angelofthenorth and Mr BadExample (your reputation precedes you, sir).

Hi everybody.

Welcome to the newbies-the more the merrier!!!
So Mr BadExample...is it true?? does your reputation precede you???:rotfl:
basilcat-it will not work, if you have one you'll want another, Lurkio is absolutely right, don't scratch the itch (apart from everyone thinking you've got fleas:rotfl:) it will go away on it's own.
Well done to everyone so far, and continued good luck to all.
Bigears, hopefully now you have got even more determination to not let the cigarettes get the better of you-you can do this, so you had a blip, learning curve and I know you won't let it happen again coz winners never quit quitting!!!GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Hi all.
Right i really want/need to give up the fags.
I'm 35 and have smoked for 18 years and they are really doing my health no favours at the moment.
I suffer from Depression,anxiety and IBS and i'm sure smoking is playing a part in these illnesses.
So i've decided that today will be my last day of smoking and tomorrow will be a new start i'm going cold turkey.
Just wondering/hoping that someone can give me some tips on this?
What can i expect withdrawal symptom wise? ( even if its gruesome i wanna hear about it)
Thanks All
Another great thread on a great forum.BSC No 104 :cool: :j0 -

OK, here goes;
Today I bought Allen Carrs book. Went to see the nurse and the doctor today, and although I have no health problems, I'm sick of being shouted at for smoking!!! AND what better way to save £100 a month?!?!
What I want to know is; has anyone read 'Easy Way to Stop Smoking'? And if so, did it work for you.
It's a bit of a weird one for me at the moment.. I haven't had a Damascus moment, or decided that I'm going to stop smoking now, right away, this minute. I think I'm just easing myself into it gently (maybe it will be less of a shock to the system this way).
Well, wish me luck on my half-assed attempt at quitting!!!LBM: 14.01.08 - Debt at 25.04.08: £7420.925.06.10: 3200.00 :T I'm over half way there!!! :j

hi compulsivespender79 :wave: (what happened to the other 78?:cool: :eek:
)
Yes, I have read Easy Way and I must confess to not quite 'getting it' either. I did stop for about 15 months on the back of it but I didn't have the 'moment of revelation' that he talks about.
I re-read it some years later and followed it up with Neil Casey's book and did what he said and BANG - it just clicked! I have been smoke free for 18 months and absolutely dellighted to be so
It may be that Allen Carr works for you (I hope it does), but if not, I would definitely spend the 6 quid-odd on Neil Casey's book
Good luck, however you want to do it. Keep us updated and we'll help where we can (get me! Sounding like an old-timer :rolleyes: )Neigh, neigh, and thrice neigh

Thanks Lurkio! I did click 'Thanks' on your post, but at the time of typing I'm not sure it worked!
Can you remember the name of Neil Casey's book? I've not heard about him!LBM: 14.01.08 - Debt at 25.04.08: £7420.925.06.10: 3200.00 :T I'm over half way there!!! :j

Hi compulsivespender79,
Check out the first post on this thread, there's loads of tips and support on there plus the name of Neil Casey's book, can't remember off hand. Also check out the link to Max Kirsten's video, not whilst you're eating your lunch though!
Hi Lurkio, how you doing?
Hi to all the newbies and oldies alike, I'll try and pop on later when I get home and catch up!!
