The Giving Up Smoking Thread!!

Morning TNG
Day 6 - still going strong. Got the odd craving which jumps out and surprises me. Still missing my early morning, first one of the day smoke, but getting a handle on the 'after dinner' feeling.
Allen Carr makes the most sense to me. I have his book for women. One thing that I have noticed is that I am feeling my emotions more strongly (and letting myself feel them), instead of hiding them under a blanket of cigarette smoke.
I always thought I was a 'Super Mum', now I know I am.
Good luck to you all.0 -

Well done, Hayley. Day 6 - any craving you are experiencing is mental, as there are now NO physical 'withdrawal symptoms'. Your body is free of nicotine. Accept that it is just your brain trying to trick you and move on
You're doing great!! :j:dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood :dance:0 -
Heh... TNG I need a prod when I'm getting a bit over-enthusiastic... :rotfl:
hayley, I'm in touch with the stronger emotions thing. I have found that I deal with things head-on a lot more than I used to but that's because I don't have the "time out" of a 5 minute fag break to cool down any more! But I don't actually think that's a bad thing. People are starting to think of me as a lot less of a push-over these days!!The other reason is that quitting just gives you SO much confidence!! For most people it's the hardest thing they think they will ever have to do. To achieve quitting and be nicotine free is the biggest boost to my self-esteem in years! It's just FAB. :T

Just a quick note. I'm on my 19th day today and I feel great-I'm not fit and need more exercise but as far as smoking is concerned, it isn't bothering me. Hope everone else is doing well. TNG, well done to Mrs T.

Day 7 for me, and this is the hardest day for me so far. I don't know why, but feel kind of dismal and blue - you will probably all say its nothing to do with the smokes - I would be blue and dismal anyway....????0

I've been where you are Hayley .... its ridiculous but almost like a bereavement! Lots of people describe a time in their quit where the realisation its "forever" hits. Its like a turning point and once passed things begin to get a little easier. Sorry for waffling - hope it makes sense! :rotfl:
Hi TNG how are things - all busy in my world!! Jo where are you hiding, come out, come out, wherever you are!!!
Hi to everyone else - its great to see so many new quitters!!
Happy smoke free days.
love and hugs

Hi
23 days now. Really enjoying it. Love putting on clean smelling clothes and not smelling of stale smoke. Have not had that feeling of "loss" so to speak this time and i think that is why it is easier this time.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Jo for starting this thread and thank you to you all for contributing and helping me. It has made my xmas so much better not having to smoke and i wish you all a
Happy Christmas
