Good morning all! :hello:
Mumofcookers and Deaks, you’re so close, it’s brilliant. You’re doing so well and starting to see the benefits already. It’s now 25 days for me and I feel like a new person.:D After the first week or so, you won’t miss it at all! I still get the occasional craving but it’s literally less than once a week and it passes before I can even get really tempted.
JoeHel, yellowmonkey and Elle how are you? :hello:
TNG – I think we’re officially the nastiest posters on here, this is what happens when we try to be nice!Hope all is well in the TNG household at the mo
Jo, glad to hear your hangover has gone, it wasn’t very nice of you to give it me though!I am suffering a bit of the old bleary eyes, furry tongue this morning – BUT it’s a thousand times less worse (can you say less worse???) than if I had smoked last night!!
Hope everyone has a great day, I’ll dip in and out depending on whether the boss is around, see you later!

A lot of good vibes around today. Stay positive :T :T :T:dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood :dance:0 -
Hi everyone :hello:it's been very busy here recently! Welcome to all you newcomers  BigEars, JoeHel, deaks and mumofcookers congratulations you are doing great ... putting me to shame! I admire you all going cold turkey as I really don't think I could do it, hell, I can't even get to put a patch on yet!!
I am however going to try very soon although I know I won't be nicotine free as you all will as I would be using the patches, but it would be a step forward. some may look upon it as cheating??
mumzyof2, I wish you luck and hope you are feeling ok today.
Hi there TNG hope things are ok with you, sorry that someone took your advice the wrong way!
Jo1972 - feeling better today??? Hope the job is going well and you have settled in - I'm sure you have

Hi BigEars!
I cannot BELIEVE how much milder hangovers are without the ciggies! That's one thing I honestly didn't expect to be so different. :beer:QUIT SMOKING 4/11/07 :j0 -

Hello Tobruk!
No, I don't think that patches are "cheating". I think that anything that gets someone off tobacco is great - BUT I do think that patches make it harder to quit than it actually can be. A friend of mine at work was using patches but they made her feel sick and dizzy. I told her how surprisingly easy I'd found it to go cold turkey and she stopped the patches straight away. She felt better immediately and has now been nicotine free for 2 weeks! The whole reason why anyone smokes is due to their addiction to nicotine. Replacing ciggie with patches is just getting the same drug in another form! And those adverts on TV for nicotine replacement products which show "crazy nicotine monsters" that drive you mad should be banned as being completely misleading. Yes, you feel a bit jittery but it's less inconvenient or painful than having a cold!
By all means I'd give the patches a go if you are really worried about just stopping, but if they do make you feel sick or dizzy I promise you will find it a lot less uncomfortable (and cheaper!) just to stop completely. Best of luck whatever you choose!QUIT SMOKING 4/11/07 :j0 -

Add that one to the list in post #1, jo!!
Tobruk - it is very easy to 'mis-read' on these forums and no matter how good you get and how careful you are, it can still happen. To see how easy it can be, try reading a post (any you like, but particularly in the Arms), and pretend that the poster is smiling. Then read it again and pretend the poster is angry. Completely different. It's a fact that you just have to live with. Hopefully the general impression that people have of a poster wins through (providing it's a good impression)

Drives me nuts!
Tobruk - when it comes to stopping smoking, the ends definitely justifies the means. Whatever works......:dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood :dance:0
