The Giving Up Smoking Thread!!

Hi IDA, I think this is the whole confident/complacent issue. Complacency is a very dangerous thing, the craving can turn up at any time and when you think you're over the smoking thing and feel confident it can turn your whole world upside down. Sounds like I'm exagerating (sp?) but that's what it feels like to me
I think I felt ok after a few months when I've given up previously, just the problem then is that you forget what's bad about it all and can be tempted back :eek:DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Yeh I know what you mean, mine does it aswell.0

Yes must remember when I take a lungful of my dh ciggie smoke (second hand you understand not directly) that my reasons for stopping are the same now as when I stopped;
- smelly
- expensive
- killing me
- smelly
- keeping a pink tongue
- etc,etc,etc.....

Yes Adz for his sins, giving up was his idea!!! (again) We normally both fail but this time for it really felt like now or never so I've kept it up! In fairness to him he smokes very little (generally less than 10 a day) and only outside, never in the house. He would love to stop but hasn't the willpower and shamefully I don't really encourage to him cause I can't face the moodiness. I figure when he's ready he will.I stopped smoking 25th June 2007STILL Never complacent but confidentMy debt is GOING DOWN!!!!0

Jo has your husband thought of quitting?0 -
Lol make him!0

I can't make him do anything he doesn't want to do, apart from the fact that for a successful quit he needs to decide for himself, he's also 6'5" so a foot bigger than me, so I'm not even gonna try :rotfl:DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0
