Morning all.
Well Day 2 for me again (god it is like Groundhog week!!!) and I am feeling OK, it is the morning that is really bad for me - bit OH's head of this morning. Normally I wake up, cup of tea and a fag, now it is wake up, shower, patch on, get ready, out the door - and until that patch is on I am like a bear with a sore head!!
But I am at work now, and I am feeling great, just wish I was like this all the time!! well one step at a time. Any tips for the morning twangs??
How is everybody doing, and just to let everybody know, I have a spare copy of Alan Carr if anybody wants it.
Two meetings today so out of the office quite a bit, and I am starting dancing classes again tonight at my old stage school (I haven't been back since I was 15 - I am now 29!!!) so I guess I will be aching tomorrow!! but it is a road to my healthier lifestyle - bring it on!!!

Hi Lucy,
You've just reminded me of one of my (many) previous attempts. What I used to do was put the patch on, then leave it on until I started feeling a bit 'twitchy'. It did help, I would leave it on for far longer than you're meant to, but the psychological affect of it being there meant that I thought about it less, IYSWIM. It helped me, anyway.....
Good to see new people and 'revisitors' alike
Hope we're all well this rainy day:dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood :dance:0 -
Ok my new baby Max should now be on my avatar, don't you think he'll make a fab guard dog?Smokefree since 27-9-20070

Laura he is gorg!!! He really is a beauty - can't make out what he is though - thought a black retriever but he looks a bit big for that! Max is a cool name we had a Max until this time last year (he died of prostrate cancer) we also have Toby (2 year old German Shepherd) and Bobby (1 year old border collie) and wouldn't be with out them!! They are hard work though - lol!!
Welcome to the new people - great to have you aboard, hello again to the revisitors and hi to those of us who haven't got a life :rotfl: - you know who [STRIKE]you[/STRIKE] we are :rotfl: :rotfl: !!
Happy smoke free day - at least our insides aren't as grey as the weather!!
love and hugs

Hi TNG - how is your day going?
I have the 24 hour patches so I put it on in the morning, and then take it off about an hour before I go to bed, if I don't I can;t get to sleep.Hi Lucy,

good guess IDA, he's a chocolate lab, and a very fat dopey one so far! Only 4 weeks old so will be very different when he comes to his new home on the 4th of November. I loved the way they all mooch around then flop to the ground asleep wherever they are......I'm so excited I already have beds and toys for him, sorting out insurance and vet this week...........only problem will be the fireworks that week but he's living in a house where an 8 year old has a drum kit in the next room so not expecting too many problems!Smokefree since 27-9-20070 -
forgot to say, it's amazing how many dog toys you can buy with what used to be fag money!Smokefree since 27-9-20070

I have a friend with two chocolate labradors and they are gorgeous - incredibly loyal and soo friendly. Max really is a big boy for 4 weeks!! Don't worry about the fireworks, in my experience as puppies they don't take much notice of the noise, its as they get older that they start getting scared!! Toby (my GS) wanders around the house with a teddy bear in his mouth, people are scared of this big hard German Shepherd and there he is with his teddy, which incidentally my dh sewed up for him last night because Bobby had ripped it!!! They really are as bad as children.
By the way you really are giving Max the best start because dogs (all pets really) are victims of passive smoking too - I often wonder if my smoking contributed to my Max getting cancer.
Make sure you keep posting photos he really will grow very quickly!!

Morning all,
Not much time to post this morning as it's all go here (blooming cheek )
Laura, he is SO cute, I'm allergic to dogs thoughbut if I had one it'd look just like Max
Had a bad night last night, after Adz post I reckon it was a day for it...my friend is an alcoholic and overdid it last night, she's also into self harm so we had to call the police and ambulance and spend the whole evening trying to get her to stay in the hospital. I was hoping they would section her (in the nicest possible way, it's what she needs) but they didn't and she kept trying to get out. So very tired this morning. Just lucky that you can't smoke in hospitals cos I came very close last night.
