No shopping for me this weekend due to not being able to go out very heavy snow here. Thank God for my stocks yet again. though will have to get the breadmaker on today as used the last of the part baked bagettes last night. Slow cooker loaded with beef stew so will be ok for a few days.
100.00 left on Asda card so pleased about this, particularly as its last years money I am spending, must make sure I do the same this year.
My month ends on Sunday but I am declaring nowSlimming World at target0 -
Had to buy milk today £1.89 from Sainsbo's  ridiculous amount for milk. I'll be sticking to MrA in future!
Will round it up to £2 as I put the change in the "car not a heap pot"0 -
Morning everyone. It's snowing here again today and one minute it looks like settling, the next it looks clear. I hate this weather and have had enough - OK minor strop over! Luckily it looks like I won't have to go out to the shops today as we've got enough in for everything we need - even bought my lotto ticket yesterday so I'm NOT going out!
Tea tonight is going to be pasta bolognese - no garlic bread as got to slim down a bit!
Keep warm and hope everyone has a lovely day.

Morning all!
What awful weather! Had plans to go to the gym today and catch up with some friends later, but they've cancelled because they are making today a 'duvet day', and I feel the same. I've been to the gym 3 days this week anyway, so I've got my minimum quota!
Had to pop to the corner shop today to get some milk, and also got some pasta because I'm not sure what to have for dinner this evening. My housemate is picking his mum up from the airport, so I'm home alone. I don't particularly want to go to the supermarket to get something just for me (which would invariably end up being a ready meal).
I have to try and concoct something with a couple of parsnips, half a savoy cabbage, half a can of sweetcorn and a quarter of a bag of green beans (about 75g) which need using. Have frozen spinach, soy beans and peas in the freezer. One onion, a red chilli, garlic, and half a pack of sage which I might include in the fridge. Could also get defrost some prawns out of the freezer. Tinned food is just chickpeas and canned tuna
So it will be either a veg stir fry with rice, some sort of roasted veg tagine with couscous, or roasted veg and pasta (but have no chopped tomatoes or cheese). Not particularly exciting, so if anyone has any ideas please throw them my way!I've got practically every dried spice and herb you can imagine in the cupboard so I'm sure I'll manage to whack something together.
I hope everyone is staying warm - by the sounds of it, the snow is conducive to the grocery challenge because none of us want to face the elements to buy food! :rotfl:Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300

how about tuna and sweetcorn pasta with some chilli flakes through it?
Or use the cabbage leaves as wraps and roast some veggies in herbs and mix with some of the tuna or the prawns.
Chilli prawns are also very tasty and you could do your stir fry idea with them.0 -

Oooo! More room for thought - the cabbage leaf idea sounds so different! Would you cook them first, or eat raw?Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300

Ooohhh frustration!! Worked out I had £70 until next sunday & then the weather went and cocked up my plans.... Roads around my way were flooding yesterday & electricity was iffy so when out with kids at docs yesterday morning I spent a few quid on bread (which I had planned to make myself but didn't want to risk the electric going off) & some tinned foods in case we had to use the camping cooker. Only to find the floods had risen and there was no way to get home  OH was working from home and didn't believe me so he tried to find a way through and couldn't :rotfl:
So then we had a 10 mile drive down the road to McDonalds (:( different budget but still spent £10 and blew my diet, again!). Then we took refuge at a friends house until OH came to drive us home. It was mental - never seen anything like it.... At least our electric stayed on and managed to get dinner (toad in the hole & baby corn) and fruity muffins & cheese scones cooked.
And I saved a small fortune as I was meant to drive up to Belfast for a friends birthday night out but it just wasn't safe.....
Complaining over & still determined to come in on budget! Will get tesco online shop tomorrow and then hopefully not need much else this month....1% at a time no. 40. £8000 (For dream family holiday) 94/100
