Hoping to only buy milk/bread & very basics to last us till end of month but things are getting very expensive:(

  • Well. I've blown this month's grocery budget but...... this is because I went to Costco and went a bit overboard. I bought enough meat to last at least two months. I spent £197.90 on meat/poultry/fish in Costco and out of this, I ate £93.39 worth this month. That seems like quite a lot :o Think I might have to include one veggie meal a week and not get greedy with the meat.

I certainly don't need to buy any meat next month - but I do need to stock up on essentials like tinned toms, pasta, coffee etc.

I'll do my big shop at the weekend before I set my budget for April.

No additions to my grocery spending to declare, but darn and blast it, I missed the Ald* £5 off voucher today. Had a reminder in my diary for next week as thought it was always last Thursday of the month. Not so bad for this week as have Mr T £5 off £40 to use, but could have used Ald* one for following weekend as runs to 30th. Never mind :).

On the upside, following seeing I could do so on MSE, asked Council to change my DD payments for next year's CT to 12 monthly payments, not ten. Better in my account than theirs and a lower monthly payment at no extra cost. Thanks :money:.

Enjoyed watching Martin's advice on TV tonight, even if I've already read it all here.

    Love to all x

    Keep Smiling :)

I might not be able to use mine, so i could send you it if you like, if you really want one. As soon as i know, i'll let you know. All depends on Dad's shifts and if i can bump up the shopping to £40. Think they brought it out a bit early with it being Easter weekend, maybe.

Thank you K9sandFelines, that is ever so kind to offer, but don't worry, I am hoping for another voucher from Mr T when I go at weekend, think he is trying to win me back after me being absent for a while. Also, even a second class stamp is 50p nowadays .

I hope you manage to use it, or pass it to someone who can without the need for postage :).

I have learnt my lesson and will put in my diary for the last and last but one Thursday next month, so less chance of missing.

    Morning all!

Had plans to get some sweet potatoes and chicken so I could do jerk chicken tonight.

No sweet potatoes in Mr S or Co-op so spent £7.39 yesterday on 2 packs of chicken breasts + a rtc bag of parsnips for 39p instead of £1.15.

Dinner plan has now changed to Honey Mustard chicken with parsnips (a one-pot bbcgoodfood recipe I've done before). Have everything in, and will serve with green beans (part of a veg offer bought in M+S on Monday)

I was going to 'treat myself' on getting lunch out today, but seeing as I'm writing this, I have got no excuse for not making lunch - tuna mayo sandwiches again today I suppose...(not excited about it, but it does save money). :money:

Better get a move on to make them - have a good day all! :D

  • morning all :)

its been a slow and trying week for us. our 2yr old has a viral infection, so lots of TLC being given, and not much housework, or shopping being done.

the house looks like a bomb site, the washing pile to put away is mounting due to all the vomitting and extra laundry to go with it.

My poor husband has been working in london all week so leaving the house a 5am and not getting home til 7.30pm so he hasnt been much help either.

on a grocery side, its been a quick run in to get the bare minimum so 2 small spends this week.

    $ainsbury's £6.87
    ald! £18.02

total now stands at £220.62 leaving just under £30 for next week. i have an ald! voucher so will probably be about £10 over budget this month but its within the realms of acceptability. the month isnt over with yet but im so proud of myself as before i would have thought 'stuff it, im already over budget'

    Have a good weekend all
