so I am declaring on a rubbish £178.40 against a budget go £160. This was completely down to a big Aldi shop on Thursday because the vouchers came out early for Easter. Well stocked going into April so no excuses for me next month:o
That's not such a bad figure - especially as you've already done some of your April shopping from your March budget :T

Declaring at £98.56/£100 for March. (although I suspect there is a receipt or 2 missing)

Have got a jar for all receipts on table now so I can keep them all together to be posted when I get time!

    See you all in April

Dinner tonight is filled tortelloni pasta from A!di (ambient) with hm tomato sauce. Will serve with brocolli and spinach. DS2 is off to McD's with Cubs so two packs of the pasta will easily serve us remaining 4. It's very tasty and at only 69p/pack a cheap and easy meal ;)

Just to second Coxy's review of the Aldi filled pasta - I think they are delicious, we have with HM pasta sauce and a garlic loaf, so uber cheap and uber quick meal. No doubt will be having a lot of these once baby #3 comes.

I'm still sat here in March until the very last day - did our weekly shop yday at A*di, using my fiver off voucher, and hope only to top up this week with fruit, bread and milk. We'll see if I can stay under budget. Good luck remaining GCers! :j

SpendingSensible - I am loving the sound of a chocolate festival. Where was it and is it still on???

I too am getting the urge to bake thanks to Flo's piccies. Not sure my waistline will thank me for it, but when the weather is so cold it is very rewarding.

    Hi Coxy11,

The festival was at the Southbank in London but sorry to say that yesterday was the last day. I think they have it twice or maybe three times a year, I can remember going one year when it was very warm and the chocolate at risk of melting. Def no risk of that this year!

I ended up making a lemon drizzle cake today :D.

Also used up the 2 remaining lemons halves/peels (after zesting and juicing) to make some lemonade....🍋🍋a bit of an experiment which worked out quite well. Basically I just poured boiling water over it, added some leftover pulp, 2 tablespoons of sugar and after 30 min or so poured it through sieve. Cooled it down and drank it diluted with water, and it was quite nice. Have to remember this for the summer (am still in hope we will get one) as more suitable for warmer weather.

Egg fried rice with peas, leek and crabstick tonight for dinner

Had a fab spend today, lucky enough to know some of the cashiers at the local supermarket so one of them let me split the shopping in half in order to use 2 money off vouchers! Got two more £5 vouchers for next week too!

Will update signature later and get final total x

So my journey to ASDA was a bit of a let down...I had missed out on the bargains as there was nothing suitable in sight =(

I still have some veggies left over so the bunnies were okay for tonight, but I definitely need to try and get to ASDA around 22:00, as arriving after this time seems to indicate the cheap vege will be all but gone.

My March GC has been blown out of the water yet again, but not by as much as I dreaded! :D Will be starting the April GC with a clean slate, and trying even harder. We do have a packed freezer and pantry, so I should be able to manage. Got some coupons and some T@sco vouchers to use, which will help a little. I've had 3 NSDs this week due to the weather which has helped as well., only need to buy bread for packups when I do the school run.

    A xo

May i butt in, by asking how you get your sig so long? Tried every way possible and have to keep deleting stuff as it won't fit in!

Emergency spend this morning for tea tree conditioner at C*-*p until doctors visit Thurs eve (poor DD has "unwanted visitors" and has been so upset that she didn't want to go into school). Would have been a bigger spend (although not out of GC); but chemist assistant advised us to hang on til appointment and just keep going as i was for now. I normally have massive bottles of this conditioner in but having been trying not to buy any toiletries and use up those we have.

Anyways, Mr T shopping also delivered to take advantage of the £5 voucher, and although DD has decided she doesn't like the look of their styling head now ( which would have meant my GC was lower as that would have come out of seperate £, i still managed to get it down to £34.70 (£4.50 of which was cat food which will not be incl next month).

Unable to declare total just yet, but eeek it's not good!!
    Have updated sig ...

The signature allows for 6 lines maximum but you can choose what font, colour and size you wish. Good luck!

NSD today. Have just wrapped DH's birthday gifts - big 4-0 tomorrow.

Dinner tonight is DR sausages (quorn sausages for me), mini roasties, spinach and cauli. DD made honeycomb from the British Bake Off book yesterday, so will attempt a little of that for pudding :D

I'm here until 31st March as our GC runs calendar monthly. Anyone wishing to post their April budget please do so BIG and RED so I can spot it - thanks:A

and in return, I'll butt in ;)

In the years I've been here, I've come to the conclusion that every time you change colour, font style or size (or centralise your text), the commands for that count towards your character count.

Taking a quick peek at the source for your signature (via a tool on my browser, not by hacking into your account) it appears you have a lot of colour changes that aren't used!

eg. before your very first '£' you turn on DarkOrchid, then immediately turn on Red, then back to DarkOrchid, then back to red. This uses up 83 characters rather than the 18 needed to get from Black to Red. After the '£' it then turns red off and on again before the numberical value. You switch to DarkOrchid and back to Red without any text between them a number of times throughout your signature, so that really won't be helping any :(

And if the code required to insert smilies also counts, then putting in the  uses over 100 characters.
