Got £5 to last until Monday. Going to Tesco tomorrow for fruit, cheese, WU liquid & orange juice. Think that's it..... Was going to get cream to make a dessert for weekend (meant to be making a big Easter roast for in laws etc) as MIL has contributed a Christmas pud but kids & BIL won't eat it. But I think I will make rice pudding for them as I have all the ingredients already.... Might even manage to stick within this fiver!!!!

Declaring £336.75/£300 - not perfect, but not bad for the first attempt (would normally be around the £400 mark so I am very pleased :T).

Have really enjoyed reading everyone's posts - helps to keep me on the straight and narrow!

Payday today so moving onto April.

    Happy Easter everyone xx

Counting today as last of our March GC even though technically it runs to the month end as we are off on our break to Ireland tonight so all spends come out of a different budget.

Unfortunately, had to work really late last night and so DH ended up doing the Aldi shop for us (dry and frozen goods to use up the £5 voucher). Despite being told several times to spend under £37, he obviously spent £38 (:() and therefore I've gone 56p over my total for the month at £150.56!!!! :o

Still, not too upset about it - am amazed how well we've done on our first month really. The freezer is also full of bread and YS meat and fish, and we have tinned goods, cereal, and household goods that will probably last us all of next month, so should have an even better one!

See you all over on the April challenge when I get back next week and have a lovely Easter

hi hope everyone is ok and doing well. I am off to hb later to look for Easter treats so that may cost a bit. I am cooking a piece of gammon in the sc for our tea today and quite possibly tomorrow cold with a fried egg and cheeky chips.

The fridge is nearly empty but as we are out and about over Easter I am not too worried and will have a few freezer surprises towards the end of next week.

    Take care Tessa
    onwards and upwards
  • I'm still here - right to the end, as I know I've got a shop to do ahead of family coming on 1 April, so know absolutely that it will come from March's budget. Despite my searching I've not been able to find the April 2013 thread - could someone post it for me please? I know, am rubbish, apologies :D

Oh dear - not a very successful month, have gone way over budget so very shamefully reporting in at £377.27/£330 which is an embarrassing overspend of £47.27. Ran out of everything and went off the rails right at the end. Will try harder for the April challenge. Happy Easter everyone!

Spent £28.22 today in A1di this included an Easter egg. Taken a piece of turkey out for Easter Sunday and will make either a lemon meringue pie or a Manchester tart as not too keen on hot cross buns.
Will need some fruit & veg on Saturday and maybe some bacon but that should be it so expecting to come in under budget as have £72.70 left and I dont want that MUCH fruit & veg. Will declare at end of month as usual.
Pleased with how the GC has gone this month as also brought mum's birthday and mothers day presents out of the grocery money. Pasta and carbonara sauce for tea tonight with some salad. Chicken curry tomorrow.
    MARCH £62.38/250
