:hello: diary and diary readers,
Well the sun is shining today and everything seems happy and calm. The new job has confirmed references etc are fine so i start in a week! Also means i have to hand my notice in on Mondayas i was waiting until everything was definite. Being fixed term means i only have to give a weeks notice anyway. Still, i'm going to be really sad to leave - the old job wasn't a career but the people really made it a joy to do.
Anyway, i digress. I've been sat working on my spreadsheet and have formulated a frugal plan. It doesn't leave much wiggle room but if stuck to we should pay off the joint loan by November. This would have been my original DF date but as i took out a loan for my new car i wont be DF by Xmas 2013.I can however work hard and pay the car off by June next year - only 14 months from now!
June 2014 really doesnt seem that far away - i was worried the car had set me back in the DF stakes quite a bit but instead it's just made me more determined.

You've done great even getting the loan for the car seeing it was needed
Look forward to reading *Subscribes*0 -
Aww thank you Hiddenidenity!
I'm excited that in 14 months time all debt could be gone! Only 436 days to go!:rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:

Well i have been doing yet more number crunching. Its my birthday under 2 weeks and this time next year i want to be debt free. So i have looked at my budgets again and by being extra frugal i can achieve this. This means that I have 1 year to become debt free
I also set up a countdown on my spreadsheet to remind/motivate me. Currently at 358 days to go!
Once debt free i really want to start properly saving for a baby fund, then hopefully by the end of 2014 the fund will be at its target amount. 2015 could be a year for a baby! How exciting!!:):)
I also start my new permanent job next week. Fingers crossed i'll like it as i need the money and stability to make the plans above feasible. Bit nervous though!:rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:

Hello diary, I've been neglecting you!
So, updates from Jonesy-land. Job good but hard, birthday very goodand DF plan going well
I've lost track of my monthly figures as I've been so busy in my work and social life but heyho, it's a one off and I know I haven't spent much. I promise to good in May.
Other exciting news is that my sister-in-law-in-law (if you follow me lol) is expecting! It's very much a wanted baby and I really am so happy for them. Trouble is my broodiness levels are now at an all time high! Extra focused to pay off the loan and start saving.
And thank you to all the subscribers! I feel popular lol. Normal updating service will be resumed shortly :rotfl::rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:

Welcome to sunny May!
The weather is lovely, the temperature's rising and i feel in a good mood today.
Ordered a huge online shop from Mr Ts for the first time yesterday. When it arrived at lunchtime i couldn't believe how much stuff i'd bought! I had ordered a heck of a lot of value stuff which is never normally available in my local store - eg 15p batter mix to make some giant yorkies. As it happens the batter mix wasnt available so i got upgraded to a bigger better pack for free! I've had to be strategic with how i've put things away so i could close the cupboard doors - still atleast i know we only need milk and veggies for the rest of the month. I plan on going to A*di for these so i'll be fine with the £17 left from the food budget.
Anyway, enough natter here, scores on the doors time:
Loan: £2500 left - 50% paid
Car: £5200 left - 5% paid
Savings: £100 - 10% saved
I've now included my car in my DFBXmas challenge to give a true reflection of my situation. As it stands my DF date will be the end of March 2014, but i still really want to achieve my christmas goal. To do this i'm going to do some (not so mini) challenges as the April dosh detox worked well.
May's challenge is to pay off our £500 holiday using fleabay, £co and the like. Although i have allocated budget to pay this off in June, I thought i'd try to pay it off from money made to bring forward the DF date. As you can make online debit card payments for free i thought this would be a good one to stop any earnings being lost in my current account. It'll be tough but i like a challenge
NSKs May Challenge targets:
Food £43/£60 Petrol 0/£100 Spends 0/£30 SFD 0/21 Money made 0/£500:rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:
