Just purchased a Christmas present - can't decide if i'm being good or being too organised. Hmm. Well we do move in to the new house in December, so i don't think i'll a lot of disposable cash. There we go, justified:rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:

Halfway through 2014 already! I'm on track to achieve my 2014 goals too
Goals for June:
1. Get under 12st7 and regularly go to the gym - i've been going to the gym regularly but havent managed to hit my weight target
2. Get the car to £1050 - at £910
3. Get things more organised regarding our house sale/purchase - in progress, actively trying/chasing
Goals for July:
1. Lose weight, anything is progress.
2. Pay off car!!
3. Make a plan regarding OHs CC.
Scores on the Doors:
Car: £910 - 82% paid
VSP 2014: £31.01 - good improvement on last month.
SPC 7: ??
CCC 2014: £20
DFBXmas: £2590/£3500 - 74% paid
Today is the start of a new 100 day challenge (part 16). My target for this one is OHs credit card, currently sitting at £2500. I paid the odd pence off yesterday to start the challenge off with a nice round number!
Nothing has realy changed in Jonesy-land, still plodding along. The house hasn't sold yet and we're starting to worry it won't sell in time for us to exchange on the new build. Still, if it's not meant to be, it's not meant to be. We don't need to move, it's just a lovely house at the right price in the area we want - just ticks all the boxes.
I do feel grown-up though as this month I paid into my pensionI wasn't able to do so until I passed my probation, which i did
Andddd...only 81 days until my holiday :cool::rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:

Hi Jonesy!
You're doing fab - keep up the good work x0 -
Hello Scatty! Hope you are well.
I am having a very strange afternoon. Our house has been on the market for just over 3 months and has had a bit of interest but not much. We reduced the price last week and the EA rang to arrange 2 viewings - woo! First up, a lady on Friday. OH showed her round and all was good. Next up a man, we both showed him round on Monday morning. The estate agents then rang Monday afternoon - could the lady have a second viewing that day? Sure, afterall the house was still tidy lol.
Fast forward to about 3pm this afternoon, the EA ring to say lady wants to make an offer (yay!) but also wants to rent it from us until the sale is completed (huh? this isnt try before you buy). We accept the offer but decline the rental as it's against the mortgage terms (which is true). EA advise they think she's just being cheeky as she has to move out of her house on Friday and she doesn't want the hassle of moving twice.
4pm this afternoon, there's a knock at the door and it's the man from the other viewing! He wants to also make us an offer but "privately" without the EA - bit dodgy no? I took his number saying i need to discuss further with the OH.
So today we got 2 offersbut both are a bit strange.
Both are cash buyers wanting a quick sale and both offers are similar (his is lower but wouldn't include EA fees). I can't get the lady to increase hers as that would mean telling the EA about the "secret" offer. I think there could be movement on the man's offer but we've accepted the other one and I'm unsure about going behind the EAs back. Just feels wrong. Overall I think we'll just go with the lady who got there first as she's done things correctly and things seem a bit safer. My head is just spinning though about getting 2 offers in an hour and both being a bit weird!
Just needed to vent/ramble a little!:rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:

Hi, First off I'd like to say well done and that I wish I had been your organised at your age. I think you need to get some advice, hopefully on here, about the offer without the EA, i'm pretty sure they could take you to court for loss of earnings because of the contract that you've signed with them if they find out about the sale. And the internet being as it is this info is easy to get hold of.0

The EA will check the land registry for houses sold and would probably chase you for the missing fees so I'd stick with the woman.Sealed pot challenge 822

Hi everyone!
Thank you for the responses, we did indeed go with the lady buyer.
It came down to the fact i would hate for someone to be underhand if we were trying to buy a property. Plus like you said, the bloke had everything to gain if we accepted a lower offer without EA, and we had everything to lose if we got the lower offer but still ended up paying fees. Despite the EA being lazy/slightly annoying they still did their job at the end of the day so it would be cheating them out of money. And it would be quite easy for them to find out anyway.
In terms of moving out, we're moving into my mum n dads house. It'll be for about 4/5 months and will be an excellent opportunity for us to save. I'm going to offer my mum board/rent (probably about £200 a month to include food and increased energy bills) but i'm unsure if she'll accept it.
We've decided to treat them to a posh meal aswell to say "thanks":rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:

Well done Jonsey!:j
Glad you're doing so well in terms of debt busting as well. How is your 100 day challenge going?0 -
I completed my last 100 day challenge (part 15) which was to pay off my overdraft and holiday, and i've started a new one from the 1st July which is to clear OHs CC.
I'll be debt free in August (woo!) so starting to target OHs debts (his CC and car loan). The house stuff will be prioritised over the car loan though so we shall see.
Hope you're good KP!:rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:
