Thanks for the tip KP, I'll use that as a benchmark when i have a look around.

That is hardcore. Personally, wasps don't bother me - i will happily trap and release them outside. I think it's because i can't remember being stung by one. However spiders are a completely different ball game. If i find an eight legged creature in my house IT MUST DIE. I hate them. I used to feel guilty but then i watched something on tv about male spiders venturing through houses/gardens/sheds when they could smell the female. That means if a female spider is in the house, more will come. I just can't take that risk.

Anyway, I just worked out the finer points for our budget after the house sale when we're living with my parents. Planning makes me happy.

    Thank you StrugglingYouth!

Abcd547 if you're after a spreadsheet there's a template knocking around the forum. It depends on what you want it to show - some people use it to note down every spend for the month, however small, but i use mean to plan and work out when i can afford to buy things/pay things off. I calculate the surplus in the bills account after all the bills are paid and forecast when i will meet my goals.

    On the payday countdown now!

    Helllooooo Diary!

Apologies for the lateness but I have extenuating circumstances! :D I am typing this from my parents house because our house completed and sold last week! Things moved so quickly that we really only had a weekend to move, and that weekend was the hottest of the year so far. Heavy lifting in 30+ heat is not fun (mental note never to move in the height of summer again!) But our house is sold! Yay! I can plan and look forward to our new build now, without the worry of not selling the old one in time :) I just need to tie up the loose ends with the utilities etc - we have notified everyone so are just waiting on final bills. Fingers crossed the credits and debits atleast even out, although getting a TV Licence refund just seems so much hassle!

So back to the usual 1st of the month run-down…

    Goals for July

    1. Lose weight - now under 13st again, baby steps
    2. Pay off car - done, making me debt free!!!
    3. Make a plan regarding OHs CC - £2100 paid, £400 to go

    Goals for August

    1. Get weight to 12st 7
    2. Pay off OHs CC
    3. Sort out the boxes of stuff currently sitting in mum and dads spare room.

    Scores on the Doors:

    Car: £0 - PAID!
VSP 2014: £158.39 - I’m restarting my 2014 target of getting £1k in my ISA.
    Deposit: £19k - target £22k

    SPC 7: ??
    CCC 2014: £0

    DFBXmas: £3500/£3500 100% -PAID, restarted for OH £800/£5000 16%

    Revised House Targets:

    1. Save a house deposit of £22k (which takes us to over 15%)
2.Save £5k for house bits n bobs (and contribute towards stamp duty) - aligned with 2014 front page target

    Well done on the sale!

Where are you keeping your stuff while you live with the parents?

Really only £400 of OH's CC?! That's amazing!
  • Fantastic news on the house sale :j:j:j:j

And great progress with OH cc - there's no stopping you :D

    Hello Scatty and KP!

Thanks for the congrats, we're working hard to clear off OHs CC ASAP so we can start saving for shiney new house stuff! All the big items are in storage and the little bits n bobs in my parents loft and spare room. We can't store too much as we might need it in the next couple of months. Just seems so wierd to not have a mortgage!
