OH got paid... I've done the money shuffle, and...

    I AM DEBT FREE!!!!

    YAY! :D

    :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j

I paid the car off a whopping 20 months early! Go me!

Next up is OHs debts. I won't consider us off the hook until these are gone.

He's currently got a CC at £1800 (was £2500 as per the 100 day challenge and we're working for this to be gone asap) and a personal loan for his car at £3800 ish. For simplicity I've called the debt £5000 and this will be my next dfbxmas target.

Feeling happy and i'm not finished yet!

    Hi jonesy

I have just read through the whole of your diary and feel inspired. Your organisation and attention to detail is fab. I hope some of it has rubbed off.

Yes I am indeed brilliant :D

Aww thanks parsniphead! Some say attention to detail, others say OCD, but I like having a plan, it gives me structure and makes me feel more in control.

    Thanks debtfreewanabee and Chrysalis :)

I hope the house sale is hitch free too. We've had a letter from V!rgin saying they are coming to install their service in mid-August as agreed with the lady who's buying, so i'm taking this as a positive that she's not going to back out.

With the sale in mind I've thought of some house related goals to work towards (hopefully before we move into our newbuild):

    1. Get overall deposit of £20k (we should have about £18k after selling fees).
    2. Save £3k for purchase fees - this includes stamp duty and quotes only come to £2200 but solicitors always seem to cost more than you think.
    3. Save £3k for new appliances and bits for the new house.

Really excited for you jonsey! So glad you are doing so well!

Remember that you could open 2 TSB accounts (each) to get 5% before tax on up to 2k (per account) for your additional deposit and fees savings. All you have to do is pop £500 in each month (and then transfer it straight out).

Nothing to do with anything, buuuut just murdered a wasp in my room. So hardcore.
