    I have the safety first tandem - and for such a reasonable price I can say it has really stood up to some serious welly from us. Both my kids have disabilities so I've been using it longer than I should have really - got a special needs double on order and boy are they a second mortgage jobby or what! - but it has done really well. It has been getting heavy to steer but as DD is actually considerably heavier than recommended it's not too bad. When they were the right size it was fab.

    I also second the sling board suggestion - I carried DS until he was 9 months and used DD in the single buggy we had at the time and found that worked really well - only thing I couldn't manage was the bus but then again DD can't walk so the complications arose from that rather than the buggy sling combo - if she's been able to walk it would actually have been easier on the bus with the single and sling rather than a double.

    We have bought a babyjogger city mini. I had my first april 2012, my second is due any day so a year apart pretty dead on. It fits through standard sized doors yet isnt compact seat wise-my one year old has plenty of room in it and hes tall for his age. Its side by side so they can both see out , interact with each other and the world. The biggest bonus- it fits in our toyota yaris' tenny boot! It actually takes up less room than our curvi travel system. Ive bought 'hamster' bags for extra storage on the sides from kiddicare which are far cheaper than the baby jogger bags. Couldnt find a footmuff that fitted them as well as the real baby jogger ones though, so bought them.

    what about something like this?

    It seems like a brilliant idea. I wish I'd known about it when I bought my double. I had an Out and About 360 which was very light, and easy to manouver and folded up ok, but my lord double buggys are just so very big!

    Hi guys!!

    Thanks for all your help..I know this thread is abit old now but belive me I'm still looking. I think I basicly went through them all...sorry if I missed any and have half decided on this one ;

    http://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplay0_10751_-1_197411_10001?cm_vc=RelatedProductAccessory#pdpTabs (Not that I can afford it right now but guess I will just have to save hard)

    I really didn't want a side by side one so if anyone does have any more suggestions I'm looking for something where I can have my newborn facing & fits in my boot...got to me something to keep baby warm etc so can't just have a pushchair type one.

    Don't want one thats on top of the other I just don't like the look/idea of them tbh...

    The only one I really really like was;

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mamas-and-Papas-duette-city-scape-travel-system-Pram-Car-Seats-Isofixs-More-/190838058724?pt=UK_Baby_BabyTravel_Pushchairs_GL&hash=item2c6ed5aee4

    Which was £850 new...plus all the extras (I couldnt buy that one of ebay as it was to far away and thier arent hardly many selling so id be lucky to get it cheaper) but god knows if that will fit in my boot but its perfect how you can have it anyway you want it :-)

    Although god knows if that Kiddiecare one will fit in my boot. :/
    People don't know what they want until you show them.

    That M+P one looks very very long - is it going to fit in lifts and things? I find the smaller lifts at places like our local health centre and Tesco to be pushing it for me to get a phil and teds in without me creeping around to the side of the pram.

    You're really going to struggle with the newborn facing part I think - b-dual technically could have the top seat parent-facing, but the footrest would almost be smacking the lower child in the head. I had one for a while (sold it on as it was too heavy to push up the stupid hill round here) and found I could have my 1 year old parent facing on top with the footrest tipped right up, and the baby underneath so I could look down on her and make eye contact that way... could actually interact more with the child facing forward in the lower seat to be honest as you're generally right above them.

    Ended up selling the b-dual (would have been fab if I had car-access a bit more, or the local bus route hadn't been pulled) and getting a very battered phil and teds which again, still ain't ideal, but was much easier to push and the littlest one (who doesn't settle easily anywhere really) actually really likes the slight swinging action of the cocoon part when it's in newborn + toddler mode (and the eldest loves buggy seats that are high up - was being pushed along waving to all the traffic like the Queen the other day)... but P+T hit an arkward part around the 3 month mark where the baby's too long for the cocoon, but too small for the seats (which have limited to no recline options on 'em).

    Basically doubles tend to all do a mediocre to less mediocre annoying job at what they do and it's finding the ones with the least trade-offs.

    Have you looked at the Oyster Max? http://www.bestbuggy.co.uk/category/tandem-pushchairs/babystyle-oyster-max-tandem-pushchairs/ still has trade offs but seems to be getting reviewed very favourably (and it's a sexy looking little thing). Still very new so you wouldn't get one second-hand though.

    You really have to go look at them and try them out (bring a very heavy changing back to chuck in and see how they handle with a bit of weight in them too!) - I was adamant I didn't want what I'm now currently using.
    Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!
