i dont attract the high benefit rates as i am only blind.
there are no alternatibe 1 bed places for me to go to.
i get only low rate disability benefit, and the help i need is paid for from this.
so i have no choice. i will lose 14% of my benefit, and akso the xhanges in council tax qill impact me.
so i will lode 20% of my income, even though i have no choice.
im a victim of the system. but never mind. im only 1 person and everyone else deserves it
You said this before and I queried it. You are paying an extra 14% of your rent which in no way equated with 20% of your income. You do your argument no good by trying to fiddle the figures like this!0 -

I 'think' she means together with the council tax changes on top of the 14% reduction on HB - I could well be wrong thoLove many, trust few, learn to paddle your own canoe.
“Don’t have children if you can’t afford them” is the “Let them eat cake” of the 21st century. It doesn’t matter how children got here, they need and deserve to be fed.0 -
But they have said they don't know what if any CTB they will have to pay as their council haven't published results.0

fair enough I haven't seen that - I wasn't being critical, just making a 'logical' jump given what had been said re: 14% reduction plus that the CTB would impact, therefore a reasonable assumption that it could be around 20%, but if it's not known what the council will do then that assumption can't be made - unless its been made on reading the general changes?Love many, trust few, learn to paddle your own canoe.

I think so and I think PIP changes too. I sympathise but at this point in time it's not the full picture. There is discretionary payments HB too that may or may not be paid.0 -

there is also the council tax canges. my low rate DLA os paid as fuel costs that allow me a semi normal life.
ibce these changes cme in, my DLA will be needed to meet the costs,

Sadly, It's not going to stop the worry though full picture or not, horrible situation. Much as I agree under occupation needs to be looked at there are many who are going to suffer through no fault of their own, no easy answers though are there.Love many, trust few, learn to paddle your own canoe.

the !$% isnt 20% of my income. but alongside the council tax changes it iss. because my DLA od slready s[emy in fuel/parking cists to gibe me some degree of normality,
you dont hgave to plan a week in advance to shop for a pair of shoes .... but i do!
my life is nowhere normal beecause everything has to be ore planned and paid for!
good fou you that you are managing .... not all of us can[
vut i dont applaud the fact that others are faring worse than me/B]0 -
the problem is people don't shout loud when it doesn't affect them or those close to them.
When PR was hit the SH sector kept quiet.
Now SH is hit the Pensioners are keeping quiet - how many times have we seen
"I am worried for me/my mother that she will pay the tax on her pension" "It doesn't affect pensioners" "Ok Great" and off the go, no thought to anyone else.
Are pensioners in PR given extra rooms? If not then I would suspect in a year or two pensioners will also have to pay, then they'll complain but that the moment are able to walk away.
I'm not sure I have enough confidence in the Govt's intelligence to say this divide and conquer was a long term plan, but implementing a change that only affects one group then a year or so later another means a lot less shouting.0 -

That's not the point - I was simply pointing out that what you wrote was inaccurate regarding the figures
I'm not sure why you're housebound or what that has to do with it..0
