The OP is just one example. There are many people who cannot afford the bedroom tax and who cannot move into smaller properties as there are none available.

Also, HB helps people who WORK as well,so you don't have to 'foot the bill' for everyone.

Dont be silly , its not a tax. It has been branded a tax by Labour just to hit the emotions of their "entitled society" vote bank.

Then they shouldn't have been greedy and should have downsized before being forced to.

Are owner-occupiers greedy as well? If there is a national housing crisis and nearly 90% of owner-occupied properties are under-occupied, shouldn't they take some responsibility too and downsize or be penalised?

There may now be a shortage of smaller properties because so many people are looking to downsize at the same time. If people had done it individually, as their circumstances changed, then there wouldn't have been such a shortage.

Agreed. When they no longer needed a big house they should have downsized but instead chose to live in a big house all paid for and had the blind belief that the good times will last forever.

This is just the beginning, when the government cannot borrow anymore, they will being to wind down the enormous social security bill that is letting people sit at home all day and work 16 hours per week.

If you pay for something out of your own money you can do as you like, whether you're an owner occupier, in the private rental sector or in social housing.

And they are being penalised. They have no choice but to cut down on food to cover the bedroom tax.

Which part of 'there are not enough properties to downgrade to' do you not understand?

Where you are; Manchester; Rightmove is showing 738 one bedroom properties to rent - and that's just one website!
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

I do take responsibility. I pay my mortgage and don't receive any benefits. I'm lucky to be in that position, I know, but you get the point.

Can you explain that to me please, because I find it incredible?

Or get a job; so that benefit reductions don't affect them.

They don't affect owner occupiers anyway AFAIK.
