The OP is just one example. There are many people who cannot afford the bedroom tax and who cannot move into smaller properties as there are none available.
Also, HB helps people who WORK as well,so you don't have to 'foot the bill' for everyone.0 -

But in this case neither adult works. And the implication is that we should keep paying (you yourself referred to the scheme as stupid) on the off chance that the daughter decides to come back here and get a job.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

The OP is on ESA meaning she is sick. Her daughter gets JSA but is leaving for work abroad. Op just asked if the bedroom tax would affect her. It will.
I said she will have to downsize.
The stupidity of the rule is that there are not enough properties to downsize to. Therefore, she will end up having to pay the bedroom tax through no fault of her own.0 -

The majority of claimants affected by the bedroom tax are those who have significant barriers to working, whether that be a limited capability to work or a disability, or both, they are amongst the most vulnerable members of society. The fact that a lot of these tenants are now being punished through implementation of the bedroom tax for having one 'spare' room, mostly due to no fault of their own, is counter-productive.0 -
You could look into applying for discretionary housing payment, which is a temporary extra HB payment that is sometimes given by the local council.0

Your daughter will leave home for good one day, i.e.. getting married or setting up home some where else, you will have the same problem then. So when ever it will be, you will have to face the facts now, that there is going to be a charge.0

There are many problems with this though.
Where are people who are sick going to find the money to pay?
What if there are no 1 bedroom properties available?
Read this. It's a joke. PEOPLE CAN'T AFFORD IT!
