I am very sad about the little girl who has gone missing, I know her parents will be feeling guilty, but am I the only one who cannot understand why they did not iuse the babysitting service........they may only have been 200yds away..but it was 200yds too far, and they are both Doctors.............I pray they find her safe and sound...........
Csarina - ive been thinking the same thing (and feeling guilty about thinking it, when the parents must be in so much pain at whats happened) but i cannot understand anyone leaving a 3 year old, and 2 younger children in a room on their own, even if they were checking every 1/2 - 1 hour. I know there is no law about what age to leave a child on their own, but for me, i would never leave children that age on their own, even if i was 200 yards away.0 -
Morning all. Hope everyone is well, hugs to anyone who needs one or would like one, especially Crazychik, I hope you're feeling a bit better today about things. I agree with BR your ex is behaving like a kid, saying that don't most of them, I really don't know what to suggest to help, just want you to know I am thinking of you.
I am of the same opinion when it comes to the little girl who is missing, there is no way I would be 10 yards from my children when they were that age, never mind 200. Especially in a forgeign country. I do however feel for them as they must be going through hell right now and I just pray that little girl is found safe and well soon.
Right, loads to do today, must get a wriggle on, waking DP up soon so he can go to work, main things stopping me getting on with it as trying to keep the peace between the boys so they stay quiet ish!
Hope you all have a good SaturdayOne day I might be more organised...........

Well it's afternoon now. So good afternoon everyone. It's trying to be sunny here, but not quite lol. Did church cleaning this morning. Rest of the day washing etc. Hubby has gone go karting with men from the church as a mens day out :-) Children out with friends so having a nice quiet time at the moment. Have a prayer and praise evening later. Have a good day every one.0

Hi everyone!
Well it's sunny and a little chilly but it's supposed to warm up later.
Logged onto Pigsback this morning only to discover I'd won one of their daily crosswords and 2000 points so I've already ordered £20 in Boots vouchers! :j
We've had a lazy start to the weekend rolling out of bed at 9am. DD1 has already been to orchestra and is going to yet another party this afternoon. DH is taking DD2 into the city centre to buy her first pair of football boots!
I've got the washing on the line so my plans include ironing, making a large pan of spag bol and some bread and cakes.
catznine I am so jealous! Have a great time in Florida. We went last year for a month and plan to return again in 2009. Just thinking about it makes me go all mushy!:D0 -
well thats the weekly shop done:j now we arte off to lakeside as DD1 is meeting her friends at 1pm and i will just wander around with the other 2
i must say it made me feel bad reading about the little girl but they are way too young to be left alone checking every half hour or not surely they could have taken a buggy or such like for them to sleep in at the restaurant or better still eat as a family unit i know when we were away in jan my 3 went to bed all in the same room and DH and I stayed for a couple of drinks with some friends but the bars shut at 12 so it was after the eve show so about an hour they are 13,12 and 10 and we still checked on them every 10 min but now i feel bad about it0 -
Hi all! :hello:
On reading your posts, I feel my life is soooo boring... Living alone I have nobody to look after - nor to look after me- but at least I have nobody to push me out of bed when I don't want to get up.
I'm also very saddened about little Madeleine's disappearance. There is a lengthy thread ind DT about it and all manner of opinions are being aired. I do hope she's found safe and well, but I fear that with every hour that passes the chances diminish ever faster..:(
Grotty weather here today, and shortly I'll have to go out on a survey. Still, my travelcard is paid and I shall use it to go shopping on my way home. Having my transport paid here in London is a massive saving indeed, and always I try to work my shopping trips around the surveys so that I don't have to fork out a penny on travel.
I will do quite a bit of Iceland shopping, as their 4pt milk is only £1 and their Quorn 300g is only £2 (£3 in other supermarkets).
Then two days' rest, except catching up with paperwork. If the weather is good again, I'll visit the local parks (and the odd pub) with friends.
Have a peaceful day everyoneBe careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
I managed to go back to bed and sleep for another couple of hours so I feel quite refreshed now. Have even managed to get DS and DDs beds changed and the washing line is now full.
Hi :hello: to mary mungo
mioliere hope the shock has worn off and you feel better now. It's horrible to be woken up like that and feel so disoriented, isn't it?
jet77 re: bedwetting. My dd had a similar problem and I took her to see the doc. He told me that they wouldn't investigate it until she reached the age of 7 as it can take some children that long to teach themselves to wake up. He was right. It just clicked into place for DD all of a sudden and she has been fine since. I would go with the pull-ups til then.
It seems I missed a lot in yesterday's thread. I haven't read it so (((hugs))) to all who need one.
Time for tea in the sunshine. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

I must admit, I dont watch the news, nor buy paper's and it wasn't until it was mentioned on here ref the missing girl in portugal, I was non the wiser.
I have just caught up with the latest on Sky news.
It is awful, and I feel for the parents, but like its been said, how can they justify checking on the kids every so often whilst they had a meal! Is that selfish by not enjoying a "family meal" (or is it me) I know we all like space when holidaying, but again, if they was out there with friends/relatives, why couldn't they offer some rest bite time!
Finger's crossed for a safe return.
Well - despite the fuss my ex made last night, Ive heard *ugger all about his dad! Im not going to text/call either. Im hurting for exFIL but more so for my own dad! I dont know where to go from here now, how to rebuild things back up. Im such a weak person, and just as I think Im getting there, something else knocks me down.
I brought our local Add paper this morning, DD has just started to learn to ride a bike without stabilisers. Ive been watching some on ebay for her, but I managed to collect a groovy chick chopper type bike for £20. I was going to offer £15, but it was in fantastic cond, I thought it was cheeky to offer less.
OH have just gone off to fetch an exercise back for us both! That should be fun!
Ive not weighed myself yet Amie, but I do feel as if Im a couple of lb lighter.
Im so tired and drained,I might go back to bed shortly.
Bye for now

Good afternoon everyone
Nice and sunny here today. Is quite warm as well, was lovely when I was out this morning to go to the craft shop. Hope it stays like this over the long weekend!
Picked up a whole pile of holiday brochures yesterday. Must see about sorting out passports etc. Picked up a couple on getting married abroad too and am working out pricesAm looking at a florida brochure just now - how badly does jetlag hit you? I've never flown that far before, and we'd only be looking at a week, so wouldn't want to waste part of it feeling horrible
WM and TD have been on, and will likely be on again before long. Soup for lunch, and am thinking macaroni for tea so must pick up some more milk. Other than that: we'll see what happens!
Extra *hugs* to all that need them, and as usual *hugs* to all, take or leave as you please.0 -
Hello all,
Catznine, have a great holiday.
crazychick and anniestar, Hugs.
Penny Pincher, Well done on getting the essay finished.
Mushypeas, enjoy the day with your mum.
Csarina, I'm glad you're getting the benefits sorted.
I've been busy this morning. I spent a couple of hours at the garden centre and have come home with a plum tree, a couple of black currant bushes, some rhubarb and lots of strawberry plants, so that little lot should keep me busy for the afternoon. Unfortunately I forgot to get the child/pet friendly slug pellets that I went for.
Tea tonight will be a barbeque and then later it will be the usual Saturday night taxi service for the kids.
I hope you're all having a good Saturday.
