Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Saturday 5th May 2007. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Flippin' insomnia again  I woke before 4 - my own fault as I hadn't put myself to bed properly, I'd fallen asleep fully clothed on top of a pile of clean washing on my bed :rotfl: - and have now given the night up as a bad job and am sitting up in bed with a cuppa and the laptop
Tasks for today include:
-Finish writing a show review
-Mystery shopping assignment
-Pop into Asda or Aldi for odds & ends (in same shopping complex as the place where I'm doing the mystery shop, so shouldn't take long)
-Visit my mum in her new home
-Go to church organist's Bach recital (he's an excellent player, plus the entry fee is only £5 and includes free wine

Now, when I agreed to visit Mum, I had COMPLETELY forgotten I had promised to go to the organ recital  and though I could call Mum and reschedule for the next day, I would prefer to get the busy day out of the way all in one go, and besides, I'm already supposed to be visiting somebody else tomorrow! I was supposed to be going over to Mum's late in the afternoon, but maybe waking up at 4am has been a blessing in disguise, as it will mean I can go to the shops as soon as they open, and then arrange with Mum to come over for lunch instead of tea. She may even fancy coming to the organ recital herself ... I will text her at 9ish and ask.
The recital is an early evening concert so I can get home in time to key in my MS results and still get an early night. At least it's a Bank Holiday weekend so I do have one more chance for a lie-in.
Anyway, for now I'll just finish my cuppa, get the WM on, and then finish writing my review which has been outstanding for over a week. It's been a busy few days and I haven't had a chance to finish it.
Hope everybody has a nice morning
Love Rzl xx

Good morning everyone.
LOL I'm typing this in bed (as I've been awake since 3) and had written a long post which DH has just deleted by moving the covers in his sleep. Serves me right for waffling!
Thinking about it, it did sound a bit whingy anyway, so I'll just wish you all a peaceful, happy weekend.
Hugs to all who are feeling ill or who have more on than you feel you can cope with. xxx
LOL Rzl, you got there just before me. I'll add my post to yours in a moment. I sympathise with you re the sleep thing. Having the same problem recently.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -

Good morning Bargain and Gingham,
THANKYOU all so much for all your kind words, wishes and thoughts for yesterday. Mum had the gp round and she has a chest and throat infection, she slept for most of the day ( which is good) we popped to see her with her cards ect, it made her upset to see my sister and grandson as she then felt bad about letting us down !!! silly lady !!! took her some hm pea and ham soup from thr freezer, i dont know if she had it or not. me and my sister and the kids had a nice day and after tea we went for a walk along the beach. the family who have along way to travel have been canceled, but i have some that live local that are still comming to me over the next couple of days, i dont think that my mum will be able to come, but we have cancelled the meal for tonight and we have all agreed to go another time.
i have bin awake since four , but only just come downstairs, as i didnt want to wake my guests, am going for coffee in the garden in a mo.
i have had a quick read of yesterdays thread.... so much sad news yesterday.. so special hugs to annie and big hugs to all of you... lets hope that today brings a better day for us all.

Hi Bargain, Snowy and Amie and all those lucky people still in the Land of Nod!
I'm glad you were able to salvage some of your birthday plans for your mum, Loraine, hope she feels better really soon.
Not a lot going on in the Flittersnoop homestead at the moment, I don't seem to have had much free time this week but I did manage to heave myself off to the doctor for my annual overhaul/MOT - not had my blood tests yet but everything else seems to be in working order
Going to plant out my baby aubergine plants and my marigolds today which I am thrilled and amazed that I have managed to grow from seed all by myself:rotfl: then I have to sing at a wedding at two o'clock, (choir booking), just hope the bride turns up on time, last wedding we did the bride was over half an hour late, the tenors were on the verge of going home (I think there might have been footy on the telly:rotfl: ).
My poor little kittycat is going cold turkey I think from the reduction in her medication, she's had a poorly tummy all week but has managed to drink water and keep it down and last night she managed a tablespoonful or so of tinned tuna (a special treat and a desperate measure) so hopefully she's feeling a bit better now (currently draped round my neck).
Have a lovely day everyone! Hugs to those in need and enjoy the Bank Holiday.

Good morning everyone
I'm another one who woke up very early and couldn't get back to sleep. Will go back in a little while though as I feel very tired.
Not much happening today. I will change DS and DDs beds today and then not do much at all. I have been so busy recently that I feel as though I need a day to myself (DS and DD are with XDH this weekend).
Just listening to the news - I do hope they find the little girl who has been abducted in Portugal. I can't imagine what her parents are feeling right now.
Have a good day. x"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Good Morning all
Early start for me, we have visitors & the arrived at 3:30 this morning, we all had a cuppa & then went to be, but I couldn't sleep, so got up again did a load of washing which is now hung on the line & made a loaf of bread which will be done in time for breakfast.
Nothing much to report here, we will go & get some more fish for out tank later & stock up on supplies for the rabbit & guinea pig & then I'll clean them out. All other plans depend upon our visitors, what they want to do & how long they are staying.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs
Hester

Morning all.
Not much happening for me today just a few errands to run.
The main one is to halfords to buy something (which my OH says) will fetch the big scratch out of the bonnet of my little car. I'm so annoyed coz I did it myself trying to wipe bird poo off using wet kitchen roll.
It's really dull and overcast here today' much the same as yesterday.to everyone who needs one and hope the rest of you have a lovely bank holiday weekend.
Useless x;)

Good morning to you who have posted and those posting later.
Well, I had a rotten night’s sleep due to the fact that I fell out of bed at about 4.00 a.m (or was I pushed – he swears he didn’t!)I banged my head on the corner of the bedside cabinet, bent my little toe and my neck feels tender but the worst thing was the confusion I felt!  DH put the light on which, for a second, made it even more confusing, and helped me back in to bed; I thought about getting up and making a cuppa but I must have dozed off again and woke about twenty minutes ago. I think I was having a violent dream which I hope I don’t remember as the day goes on! I know I felt really anxious when I found myself on the floor and had already woken up a couple of times. Why is getting a proper good night’s sleep so difficult these days? I have loads to do because we have the neighbours coming over for dinner tonight and before that I have to do a big shop and a bigger pile of ironing and some more paperwork. I’ll do my usual party trick of dozing off in front of guests! I’m quite famous for that in our circle! They take bets on how long it takes!
BARGAIN – hope you manage to stay awake today – have a good time at the organ recital!:T :T
GINGHAM – whinge away – it’s what we’re here for!:A :A
AMIE – so glad your mother has had a visit from the doctor and hope she gets better soon. Enjoy the weekend with your guests.:A :A
FLITTERSNOOP – hope kitty gets better:A :A
ANYONE HEARD FROM SMOKYBABE YET? I don’t think she posted at all yesterday – mind I haven’t checked the rest of the thread yet. Hope she’s OK?
Well, off for a shower – I should have washed my hair yesterday and now I look like Neil from the Young Ones!  Then I’m aiming to get to the Co-op early but it shouldn’t take too long in there because I got all the fruit, veg and meat yesterday. WM is loaded and ready and BM is loaded and ready with one of DANNA’s recipes.
Have a lovely day – will look in again later.
Hope everyone who had such a rotten day yesterday finds today is a good one.
(((hugs))) to you all:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
