When you upgrade from CPW, bargain with them and bargain hard. A lot depends on things like the staff and company sales/profit performance but this has been covered in my other "CPW O2 Retentions Thread".

They may not have the best deals for a new customer, but once you become a CPW customer and when you come to upgrade you will get the best deals.

For overall service, CPW still comes out on top I think.

They definitely do. And so do they daughter companies - obviously they still try to screw you. But not as much as other companies. Plus if they do no pay up - just go to CPW and they will sort it out. With other companies there's not one you can really go to.

Will cpw really help you if you had trouble at one of their companies like e2save for example? What would be the route to getting cpw involved in such cases?

Send charlie and email (since he technically owns e2save and onestop) and see what happens.

Yus786 or anyone who sent a cashback claim off in May - Have you received your cheque yet?

I sent mine on 24th May and got a text on 1 june saying cashback was successful. however nothing received so far and cpw are normally quite quick.

I know i could call them but i just wanted to ask here first.
    thanks

CPW will help if you email the right person/department. However just a note - I wouldn't go into a cpw store and ask one of the sales guys to help, as in most cases they'll just tell you to ring e2save :/

my first 2 claims were nice and easy, got the cheques within a month. But for the final claim sent in early May, got a text to confirm receiving the claim a week after, then another text to say it's successful another week later.

Now, 1 month passed, called the redemptions dept, the guy says I need to wait upto 28 days after receving the 'successful' text. So that would be 6 weeks in total.

I think all retailers are delaying the claims now, just a matter of weeks, or months.

I wouldn't use Carphone Warehouse again if they were the last mobile phone company on the planet.

They've have caused me more stress and agro, and made me angrier than any other large company I've had contact with, and that's saying something.

Don't start me off on them because I really don't want to expend more stress on these people.

I now carry a bargepole round with me in case I walk past one of their shops, or see one of their lazy, incompetent, money-grabbing, deceitful members of staff.

I think the point here is that ALL retailers will and have experienced some problems/issues with its customers. Theres no denying that but it is the level of complaints made by the customers that we are really talknig about and I feel CPW on average receive less customer complaints then other retailers. You only need to start looking at this forum and see the endless number of threads on "phones2direct", "e2save", "mobileshop" etc. That tells us something but not everything.

You're wrong. CPW have an enormous number of complaints, and if you've read the consumer/financial pages in the weekend newspapers over the past year you will have seen their name crop up time and again, particularly in relation to the customer service linked to their Talk-Talk service. In terms of ineptitude they have become the new NTL.

There's no point in just saying "I feel CPW on average receive less customer complaints then other retailers". Your instinct is factually wrong. They offered a service that they've essentially been unable to provide and support.

It may well be the case that other companies are just as unreasonable, and some no doubt worse, but if I see someone puffing up CFW on here I will put the other side of the argument, based on personal, and very bitter experience.

    Grrrr.
