just a quick update, as i know a couple of you are thinking of getting the grande punto.
havent taken piccys yet as i have been to busy driving it!!!
good drive, taking a bit of getting used to as i havent driven a diesel for about 12 years!!! its not noisy which is good didnt want to sound like a taxi pulling up everywhere:D
the 1.3 16v has really got some poke. havent floored it yet as want to slowly run the breaks etc... in. would be scared to drive the 1.9 if the 1.3 is anything to go by!!!
It has got a milisecond of lag, but again once that has passed it just shoots off!!! i will get used to it when i have been driving it more.
Comfy drive, loads of room, little miss divadee was lounged out in the back admiring the new found space for her legs!!
only one small fault with it so far, and thats the glove box. Its just tiny. You cant even put your manuals in it. That is the only fault so far.
And the dealers where great they bought me a massive bouquet of flowers as they knew it was my birthday and i mean massive must of cost a fortune!!!!0 -
Thanks for the updates divadee... keep em coming.
I sat in the 1.2 active at the weekend and was very impressed. The amount of features for such a cheap car is amazing... just got to save up some cash now so I can afford one.... hopefully when '57 comes out..
Cheers again

Hi,
I'm also thinking of buying one of these the 1.3 litre diesel with a service package.
Mine will would probably do 90K in the 3 years that i own it I will then be selling it on does that sound a bit much for a city car like this, bareing in mind that most of these miles will be on A-roads and not zipping around town.
Other options include 3 year old golf tdi's? does any one have any similar suggestions?0 -

Did you buy the 75 or 90 Bhp model?0 -
Its worth remembering that as soon as you drive out of the showroom in a brand new car you drop 17.5% down the drain, in the case of the Punto that is £1487 !!
If everyone thinks so, then how do people buy "used" cars?
For some, the pleasure of driving a new car, is equal to (or more than) that 17.5%.
BTW, I never bought a brand new car myself. Simply because I couldn't afford oneHappiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0
