Has Anyone Got A Fiat Grande Punto 07?
Options
We are thinking of buying a fiat grande punto 07 and wondered is anyone else has them and what they think if it.
we are looking at the 1.2 Active Aircon model.
we normally change our car every 3 years and we have been offered a brilliant deal on this one and just wondered what others think of it.
we are taking it for a test drive tomorrow, so we can see more then,
if you own one have you any problems with it? any niggly annoying things etc... ?

Right I just bought a 6 month old 2006 model (active 1.2) on Monday.
Early models suffered from problems with the door locks but later models seem to be ok. The 1.2s are not fast but its pretty nifty around town and better than you might imagine. The city buttons really useful when parking.
I haven't had any issues as in faults - points I would make is the visibility ain't great. The front pillars are quite big and the rear pillars also make parking a bit of an issue (although the view straight back is fine). Also you can't see the bonnet at all (I'm 6ft 2") so it takes a bit of getting used to. I'm still learning to park it.
Hope that helps!
You might like to look at the Renault Clio, Vauxhall Corsa and Seat Ibiza.
You get bags of features for you money on the Punto.0 -
thanks for all that info.
the engine size isnt an issue as i have a 1.1 panda at the moment so its s step up
i think the front pillars are teh same-ish as the panda and they can be annyoing when you have to lean to look and the back pillars i have to look right round to see out, so i think same sort of issues with the punto.
i cant believe you llike the city button!!!! i hate it in my panda and i think i have only used it about 10 times at the most, it makes the steering wheel to light and funny for my taste!! buy my hubby loves it for parking.0 -

Take a look at the Punto Multijet Diesel. If it fits your budget, they are very economical and one of the better diesel engines on the market. Long term, diesel cars usually hold their value better and don't need servicing as often (even though I can't guarantee thats the case with the Punto). If you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0

well we looked at a seat ibiza yesterday and went and looked at the grande punto again, and im confused!!!!
mr divadee didnt like the interior of the seat ibiza reference sport, and i have to agree that the interior was a bit dated looking. The buttons and knobs were all a bit chunk and 80's looking.
then we looked at the grande punto and we both still like that. Unfortunately i dont think we could stretch to the diesel, but i have had a look at the figures and the fuel consumption is fantastic on them!!
oh decisions, decision!!0 -
I reset the trip on mine on Monday and since then have been driving both on country roads, motorways, city centre streets and been stuck in traffic.
Getting about 40mpg (average). Goes up to 55mpg when doing about 65mph on the A1. Not bad!0 -
Check out https://www.broadspeed.com They have some very good deals on the entire grande punto range.0

These are fantastic wee cars.0 -
OP, would you mind telling us what the "brilliant deal" that you have been offered is?!?!
I quite like the look of these cars but Top Gear weren't too impressed with the quality...?

well they are offering px for my car 3150 (3 year old fiat panda) 0% finance, the car is listed at £9290 with metallic paint but we were offered it at 8500 plus mats, full tank of petrol and few other things thrown in, this is the best deal with 0% finance we could find anywhere!! we have even tried dealers as far as london!!!
if anyone knows of any other dealers offering a better deal with 0% then please let us know!!!!0
