Is that all women are? To be divided into two camps, based solely on whether they have a job or not? OP, I'm guessing you're male and perhaps trying to decide which 'type' of woman would suit you.

Trust me... if you see women in that limited and limiting way, then you'll end up with no one.

The single post. The terrible grammar. Can't help but think you're a troll anyway...

I'd rather have a career (as much as I love my little man!) but my current job is a checkout operater part time and I'd much rather stay at home with him...I guess what I am saying is if I had a proper job I'd prefer work

I would quite happily be a stay at home wife (and I have a very good career!) if finances allowed it.

I think it depends on your relationship and everyone should do what is right for them.

My husband works long hours in construction and I wold love to be at home and able to keep the house clean and make his meals etc, but I simply don't have the time as i also work full time in an office role (which also involves travel - when I would prefer not to be away from home).

When I was single I worked.
When we married I moved and and was without work for a month or so, then worked in a shop (p/t and f/t at different periods) for about 10 months, out of work again and then worked for the CAB (p/t then f/t) until son was born. Not been in paid employment since son was born, but he is now at school so looking at all my options just now- probably something worked round him as much as possible.
Short answer: pre children I worked, post children I would only work if it was round them and they were always put first. Hubby works f/t.

  • You have given very little/no information so the only response we can really give is that everyone is different. Career might be the option for one but stay at home for another.

Personally, I'd be happy to be a stay at home Dad with what's happened in the past to me. I can understand why women want to stay at home.

I go back to work in 6 weeks after Mat leave. If I didn't have children I could never be a stay at home wife....there is only so much gym, cleaning, reading, watching Jezza and this morning, having lunch out that one can do.

I don't know any non-working women whose lives are anything like that!
