Hi there.Hope everyone is well.Wander if someone can give some advice on our case or point in a right direction. We are in a process of claiming compensation from Philippines Airline("PAL","PR") for their cancelled flight from Heathrow to Manila for my underage daughter and wife. Few details, cancellation was announced when the passengers were already inside, just before takeoff, stating technical/safety reason, daughter had her own seat bought. Long story short, airline agreed for cash compensation and sent us a waiver to sign. Although the airline mentions "600 euro per passenger" in one of their emails, the waiver only states 600 euro and some of the wording does sound as if signed we won't be able to claim (ever) again from them. Not sure it's allowed to post(attach) the waiver itself here for you to see. Thanks in advance. All the very best.Vibe0

600 Euros per person is indeed the correct amount payable, so they are correct you can not claim for any more. Just make sure you are not signing for a total of 600, it should be 1200 if your daughter was travelling on a paid fare and over 2 years of age1

Yes, the daughter was traveling on a paid fare and was over 2 years of age. So i guess we just going to amend the amount on the waiver, put wife's name on it, email it and see what they going to say. Also on the side note. Could the waiver, if signed, possibly stop us from claiming ever again from them, if we need to?RegardsVibe0

Vibe, if you book more flights and suffer again, no the waiver has no effect. It just applies to this flight alone1

You know, those kind of terms normally state something like "your consumer rights are not affected". As i was already preparing the case for CAA complaint in my mind. The waiver being last drop and communication from airline been slow and awkward, where they not really responding to emails, so you query through web form, they reply by email, you email back, silence. And so on.RegardsVibe0

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had dealt with Flight Delay? I had a flight delay of 6 hours with Tui I didn’t get anywhere with them directly to claim any compensation so got in touch with Flight Delay who assured me I had a valid case & they would deal with it for 25%. This was 6 years ago! Whenever I ask them what is happening I get told it’s with the solicitor or the courts. If anyone could offer me any advice I would be very grateful. Many thanks0

that could well signify Air Traffic restrictions (possibly caused by weather) airlines like to leave when the flight is boarded but to do so they need to have clearance from air traffic.
The weather does not necessarily have to have been bad at Gatwick it could have been anywhere on the flight path route.
you can try the flight details in EUClaim and bottonline to see what they say
thanks for your advice. I went with Bottonline who had to go down the legal route before the airline settled. It took more than a year due to covid but definitely worth it.

Hi! I posted this in the general board before realising I don't think that's the right spot. Here's my message:
I really appreciate any help/guidance!
In 2019, I purchased flights from London to Mexico for October 2020 through the site Travelgenio for an Aeromexico flight.
In September 2020, the flight was cancelled.
In October 2020, I got a voucher for the cancelled flight from Aeromexico.
In January 2021, I purchased flights from London to Mexico for October 2021 using the voucher.
In August 2021, the flight was cancelled.
I requested a refund but was refused a refund. Aeromexico claim that since I paid using a voucher I can't get a refund (but only a replacement voucher).
I filed a complaint with the Civil Aviation Authority.
The Civil Aviation Authority responded saying that they had not received a response from Aeromexico. The CAA provided the following response:
"I am sorry to tell you that we have not received a response from Aeromexico that contains further information required to resolve your complaint, despite our reminders.
In general, under UK (EU) Regulation 261/2004, it is the airline which must prove that they do not need to offer you a refund of your ticket. In the absence of any information from the airline to justify their position, we have proceeded to consider your complaint based on the information provided by you. Based on that information provided by you and the lack of information provided by the airline, the CAA's opinion is that a full refund of your original ticket cost would be payable in your case."
I'm nervous about going to claims court, but not sure I have any other option. Have others been in a similar situation? It's a huge amount of money, that I can't risk losing. What would you recommend?
Any help greatly appreciated!

Majority of airlines take the same approach with refunding a voucher booking with a voucher. Were you given any options for the initial cancellation of refund or voucher? (situation probably not helped given you booked with TravelGenio....surprised you even got a voucher, many people with them that booked are still fighting for anything!)
There was a case where some airlines that should have offered a refund initially were told to refund the vouchers (BA website gave voucher only option and was not clear to people that they could phone up and get a refund instead) however you will be a bit stuck with court without a UK address (I imagine it would be costly to use the Mexico court process)2
