Why Is There Not Much Help For Binge Eating Disorder (and if there is, where is it?)
Comments

Binge eating disorder used to be a huge part of my life. At 18 I was 15 stone. The causes of my binging was all due to emotional problems as well as food addiction. I tried again and again to stop eating crap and always failed. I turned vegan and the weight fell off me, obviously I had horrendous cravings and withdrawal from processed sugar and other rubbish but almost three years on I feel amazing and weigh eight stone 0 0

            I'm still here
During a massive period of stress I fell right off the wagon. Sugar, alcohol overindulgence, grains, takeaways, the lot
However, I've pulled myself together and getting back on it!

Still here. Doing better but had a lot of pistachios last night, really noticed the salt. I hadn't had pistachios for years even though I love them after a lecturer pointed out how fattening they are to me when I was sitting in the front row and eating them (in front of everyone).
I love sugar and the relaxed feeling it gives me.0

Hope you told him fat =/= fattening!

I didn't know as much about food then so I just shrugged.0

Hi guys! I haven't been on for ages but tried to log in earlier and the thread was closed. Not sure why unless there was medical stuff in there that has now been removed.
I am struggling still. I go through phases of eating healthy but I struggle with the CFS and end up too tired to cook or think about proper food so end up eating toast and butter!
I have been doing other things for the CFS like meditation and pacing but unable to exercise which means I just feel pants and think 'so what'!
I hope everyone else is ok.xx0

I tried to reply yesterday too but couldn't.
I'm also struggling at the moment. Went to the Dr's yesterday as I have muscle spasms in my back and sciatica. He's referring me to physio. Hopefully it will help as even walking is murdering me.
 Good luck to all xx0

I would thoroughly recommend 'The Jane Plan' I have just completed three weeks. Take a look.
I have had no cravings and don't feel hungry. In fact sometimes I go to bed feeling really full and questioning myself about what I have eaten even though I have stuck to the foods supplied. I am starting to gain confidence in myself that I can overcome my abnormal eating traits now.
I would thoroughly recommend based on my first three weeks anyway.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0

            Hi,
I haven't read the whole thread but I wanted to say I also binge eat. To me, it's not emotional eating, it's very much an addiction or compulsion - almost like "I can so I will". I'm a very addictive person, although a lot of people who know me would be shocked at that as I am mostly very sensible I do get addicted to things very easily.
My compulsive eating is a bit better, having read Paul McKennas gastric band book. But it is still a problem for me. I'm lucky I'm not really overweight, but I could do with losing about half a stone.
The solution is definitely changing the thoughts about food and breaking the addiction - not dieting, as that will never last in the long run as long as the addiction remains0
