:lipsrseal LOL I think they are to me what marmite is to you :rotfl: But if you need a snack they won't raise your blood sugars.

I downloaded the sample of that on my kindle but (as I thought) it didn't have any recipes in that section!! Will download the rest in a little while.
Is there anything else i could try for salts on Cambridge? Is it just 'normal' salt that I need? Like could I, in theory, eat a teaspoon of table salt?
Have had a really tiring day today. Managed to make chicken and veg dinner but little Mr Oops fell asleep after a hard day's nursery and Mr Oops doesn't feel too grand now either. I am laid up on the sofa. Was really bad with nausea and brain fog earlier and am absolutely floored now!0 -
No, I wouldn't say eat a tablespoonful LOL. If the headaches continue try a quarter of a teaspoon in a glass of warm water. You are drinking plenty aren't you?Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Yes i meant teaspoon. I do make sure I drink plenty of water - probs about 2 - 2.5 litres a day. Especially when I'm on Cambridge because i sip it to relieve the boredom of only 'eating' 3 shakes a day!!
Did you lose all your weight by doing low carb? And do i remember you saying your GP recommended it?0 -
Yes, all through low carb, but no, my GP wants me to eat low oxalate - which I'm struggling to marry up with low carb. Not least because my end of day treat is a cinnamon mocha with cream and celery provides a much needed crunch... Her face when I corrected her that I don't eat low fat was quite a picture, but I've provided her with lots of studies and we compromise on the view that there is no one size fits all diet. For me it doesn't make sense to eat carbs that raise my blood sugars and lead to a life on medication (I was insulin dependent while pregnant and don't really want to go back to that). And it doesn't make sense to eat grains just because someone has decided that they form part of a healthy diet, they quite obviously give me gut ache and aggravate my incontinence which is a sure sign that eating them isn't a good thing for me.Eat food. Wow. What a difference it has made to you then. You're totally right in that different things work for different people. I wouldn't say I suffer from incontinence but have a very sensitive bladder. Could wee at the drop of hat and sometimes I feel like things go straight through me to the point where my bladder is full and achey really quickly.
Well it seems i have picked up the bug off the little Oops's - i have not been out of the bathroom all night. Yuk! They're off to nursery and school soon so am going to try and get some sleep!0 -
And that's the tip of the iceberg! It's also had a massive effect on the peripheral vascular disease, my overall energy levels, my brain fog, my skin, hair and nails and many other things. But, and sorry if tmi, I'm doubly incontinent, the energy levels along with a physical problem affect the urinary incontinence, the grains affect the other. I do far better with a lot less fibre and a lot more fat which, ahem, greases the skids LOLEat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

No TMI for me lol, especially not after the night I have just had in the bathroom!
i think my senstive bladder goes hand in hand with the IBS. I always have to go for a wee again after a number 2! By that I mean, i have to stand up clean, wash hands etc and then it's instantly like I'm desperate. This doesn't cause me any probs though because I know it's going to happen.
My IBS goes both ways too....Sometimes I have to like there and then and there's no stopping, but I do get (some) warning so can usually manage without embarrassment! Other times I am constipated and bloated with it and that is so bloomin uncomfy.
I hae noticed grains and bloating seem to go together and of course some fruits too.0 -
