I jest, but I do eat meat at least twice a day. Breakfast is usually bacon or steak and eggs, lunch is tuna or chicken or cottage cheese salad, or some chicken wrapped in big leaves like spinach or watercress. Dinner is beef stew with lots of onions and peppers and no potatoes or chicken stir fried with peppers and broccoli or bacon fried with curly kale, and snacks are usually fruit, boiled eggs, dried fruit or small pots of cottage cheese or protein shakes.
Pasta, bread and cereals turn my stomach now. I still eat an occasional portion of brown rice, or a small portion of mash, and I have a cheat meal once a week (usually curry and rice).
I'm not a great meat lover, although I do like some. I couldn't eat as much as you! I can only eat fillet steak at the restaurant I went to the other week, because it is cooked to perfection with no fat etc!
I do love eggs and fish though. Particularly mackerel. Little miss Oops has acquired a taste for mackerel too!0

I snack on beef jerky too, lovely stuff
Not very keen on fish myself, to me it always feels like it wants to be meat and fails haha! I do try and eat it though as it's good for me

I always thought beef jerky would be full of salt for some reason. Is it a lean meat snack? Just because I don't do fat usually!x0

It is salted, but no more than bacon really. It's the drying process that preserves it.
You have to have some fat - I find my friends on a very low-fat diet have very dry skin and hair. But I've always found jerky and biltong to be pretty low-fat, and if there is a bit of fat you don't taste it.

I don't mind fats like butter and things and can eat crackling. I just don't like fat on meat. Makes me gag!
I shall look out for jerky when I'm out and about.
I take it you feel well with how your diet is now? Did you lose weight this way too. (Apologies if you have already told me this before)! X0

I am finding this diet very easy to stick to, and combined with my exercise regime I am losing size although not necessarily weight (I powerlift!).
Jerky's often on those clip strip things in supermarkets

That's great. I have finally come to realise it's not all about the numbers on the scales. I am really pleased it is working for you.
I have been struggling with the side effects of Cambridge like the headaches and nausea is worse than my normal experience of this, so much so, I craved Lucozade the other day! It has been good not to experience the bloating though.
I have been thinking of using SW's original plan as framework for eating. Original is the one where you can have as much lean protein as you want and then extras such as carbs although I was thinking of using my extras for milk and cheese and not going for the low fat version of things. I seem to struggle when I am left to my own devices so to speak because I suppose I have been brainwashed over the years into thinking things are bad.
As there is the opportunity to binge on 'free' stuff, i think i shall keep in mind the Beyond Temptation principles so as not to eat for the sake of it.
You can also have unlimited fruit on SW so was thinking of opting for the lower carb versions. Berries? Possibly frozen.0

make sure you're drinking plenty and try upping your salt - can you have a spoon of marmite, make a hot drink out of some stock etc? Your body is adjusting it's sodium and potassium levels and each time you break it you're starting the cycle again.
FWIW Jerky and biltong can't be made with high fat cuts because the fat goes rancid, a bit of sirloin works a treat (says the lady who's drying some biltong in her dehydrator at the moment...) .
Fat wise I'm a firm believer that you're better off eating the fat that comes naturally with the food you're eating so keep the skin on the chicken, etc. Your food will taste better for a start because the fat usually holds most of the flavour Eat food. I couldn't stomach the flavour of marmite or bovril or stock. I like the chicken skin and don't mind cooking in fat. I just don't like the excess fat to actually eat.
What about pork scratchings - are they any good?!0

:lipsrseal LOL I think they are to me what marmite is to you :rotfl: But if you need a snack they won't raise your blood sugars.
