Why Is There Not Much Help For Binge Eating Disorder (and if there is, where is it?)

yep, exactly like cabbage and spring greens LOL, also spinach (which I tend to buy frozen), kale etc. Lettuce wise steer clear of the iceberg and head for romaine and lambs lettuce and the like - buy a packet of seeds and grow some, it's far cheaper. http://gardenofeaden.blogspot.co.uk/2009/09/how-to-grow-winter-lettuce-from-seed.html http://www.charlesdowding.co.uk/node/63. I said dark green but actually a mix of dark leaf is even better - get those red and purple things going as well The veg doesn't have to be steamed and served on it's own, try frying with some coconut oil, ginger, turmeric and mustard seeds. Cook spinach with cumin, mint and coriander. etc... The veg doesn't have to be steamed and served on it's own, try frying with some coconut oil, ginger, turmeric and mustard seeds. What do I eat? Erm, depends what I fancy, what's in the trug outside the back door and what I spot going round the shops. I do eat a lot of eggs, trout and avocados - not necessarily together LOL. I do cheat as well and include good quality sausages and bacon but don't tell FF cost she'll disapprove - just like I disapprove of her using refined coconut oil... I also tend to eat when I'm hungry, which means that I sometimes eat just once a day and sometimes more. If I'm cooking a big breakfast I'll join in but maybe have a snack in the evening, if I'm not I may not eat at all until DS2 gets home from school at about 4.30. Today I haven't felt hungry so I haven't eaten - I have drunk though, 3 mugs of tea with raw milk and a pint of water - still got to get round to kicking that caffeine again but I concentrate on one thing at a time, until January it was DS2's special needs tribunal and move to the ASD unit, then it was DS1's sixth form plans and now it's time for me again Eat food. Hi everyone!
Hope we're all well! I'm feeling a tad rough (think it's carb flu) from being on Cambridge again. I could sleep for Britain (nothing new there). I am off out for a lovely meal tomorrow with Mr Oops so will probs opt for steak and veg (and possibly pate stuffed mushrooms ).
I was wondering if anyone else had tried those zero noodle things? They're supposed to be low carb and as I am fond of pasta dishes thought they might be worth checking out!0

I am feeling really tired too. I am getting enough sleep - I think it is due to poor diet that I am feeling so low and tired. Just back from getting my hair done and looking in the mirror at the hairdressers I can see how bad I look with dark circles under my eyes and almost grey looking skin. I just can't seem to get myself motivated at all to look at my diet again. At the moment it is all convenience stuff and junk and I am not sure I have the strength for another battle with myself or with the food.0

I've not tried them myself but I've heard mixed reports, bit like marmite LOL. I use courgette as a pasta substitute, you can cut it julienne if your deft with a knife but as I'm not I get DS2 to make it using a spiralizer - he thinks it's great fun :rotfl: The gadget is pricey but have you seen the cost of those noodles?!
Plenty to drink and some extra salt will help to cut through the carb flu - cup of hot marmite?Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Hi allie23 you might need to reach rock bottom before you can lift yourself up, do you not feel you deserve the best for yourself? You are worth investing in yourself, you deserve to eat well and feel good. Watch some videos on youtube for inspiration 0 0

Much as I'd love to like a cup of hot marmite, I can guarantee it will make me hurl!!!!
I tried courgette spaghetti on one of my Atkins attempts but oh my, I was so fed up by the time it was ready! That spiralizer looks fab. My kids would love it. When you do your courgette spaghetti, how do you cook it?
I have had green peppers slices with philly for this evening's 'meal'. I lnow philly isn't on the Cambridge list but I am so tired, it was the quickest I could come up with. I have boiled some eggs for tomorrow as well. Looovvvveeee boiled eggs!
I am looking forward to my fillet steak tomorrow - DH and I used to go to the same place about once a month but with xmas and work, we haven't been in a while.
I have to say, the last 4 days has been hard on Cambridge but I feel so much less bloated, it's great! Like I said, i know it's not the healthiest way to lose weight but I am so fed up, I need that boost and it will serve the dual purpose of being able to reintroduce foods in order to see which affect me the most. I also know that even if lose the weight, the hardest part will be keeping it off. That's when I'll definitely be on here in the hope of extra support!0

I know how you feel. I always look like a pale grey mess when my diet is rubbish.
Don't put too much pressure on yourself. Be kind to yourself. How about doing something nice for yourself like reading, watching something that makes you feel good. Or having a long soak? Try not to worry about food, just go with the flow until you feel better.0

Here's a video about how to make courgette spaghetti and marinara sauce, this lady is a raw vegan, I'm not but I like to watch her vids.

Oh look, she's got my spiralizer LOL but I've got gut ache just thinking about the quantity of tomatos she's eating in one meal
I don't cook my courgette as such I just pour boiling water on it and leave it to stand for a minute or so, really just to warm through. The spiralizer cuts it so fine it doesn't need anything more. (unless you like your pasta cooked to mush)
Have to say oops that while I agree the highly processed nature of Cambridge isn't ideal surely the measure of whether it's healthy has to be based as much on whether you feel healthier as on any other criteria. Given how you were previously eating you're probably getting a far more rounded range of nutrients and if the bloating is subsiding then you're probably also cutting out something that's irritating your system. And having a low carb meal a day will help keep the boredom away without compromising how the Cambridge works.
The thing now is to pay close attention to how you react when you eat specific foods - keeping a diary will help. If you can work out what makes you feel bloated then knowing that you'll pay a penalty for eating should help make it easier to avoid. In my case that's all grains and especially in combination with nightshade and I have to keep my carbs very low, it's pretty obvious that anything above 20g/day and I can't lose any weight - but hey ho, I'm happy to stick where I am for the time being in the sincere hope that there's more changes happening on the inside.Eat food. Good luck in finding them, none of them to be found in any of our local Holland and Barrets etc.The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett
