For the record my comment was meant to be tongue in cheek I certainly never said I hated facebook and I'm certainly not justifying why I use it!!!!!!!, at the end of the day if you u want to use facebook then do so, if you wish to delete/defriend people do so, if you wish to have a rant or slag someone else off on facebook then DO SO!!!!!!, but be aware that every action has a reaction and if you cant deal with it then thats your problem? It has nothing to do with Facebook itself its the petty people that use that always spoil it for everyone else nuff said:cool:Cherry_Bomb wrote: »Of course I'm not saying that! It's those who come across as though they are somehow a better person because they don't have or no longer use Facebook, Twitter, Bebo etc that my comments were aimed at
''Facebook in my opinion is for people who still think they are kids"
"It's a pathetic place"
"Facebook is the mother of all evil"
"I prefer talking to people in real life" well some of the post counts people have on here I really would beg to differ on that one
My favourite so far is
"I deleted it a couple of weeks ago and it was such a relief"
I mean really! A relief??? I paid off my CC a few months ago. THAT was a relief. Running in the door when you've been stuck in the car for hours bursting for the toilet. THAT is a relief. Getting up the in the morning thinking you've run out of milk and finding out actually you've got just enough left for that life saving first cuppa. THAT is a relief.
The best part is commenting how much you hate it then saying "well I do have an account but its only for such and such" as though they are justifying themselves to the non-users amongst us.LOVE isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live WITHOUT

hi sportbeth
I wish you well for your future. You sound a much nicer and better person than those other women on Facebook and the drama that has been created. What a way to behave. Best off away from them.Take care of yourself, Margaret Do a little kindness every day.;)0 -

Thank you Margaret! What a lovely comment, thank you for taking the time to post it x0 -
Goodness me. I don't think the problem is facebook at all. As many have said, it's the people you're dealing with. Particularly your friend who has taken umbridge at you for defriending a friend.
Facebook has its place. The younger generation have grown up with it. They love it. However, a sixth of the world's population use the platform and how that interacts in their own personal life is in their control. If your supposed friend has defriended you(in RL)because you defriended another friend, is that not up to her? Just like you made the choice to defriend your other friend on facebook? Frankly I think it's all a bit ridiculous anyway. However, facebook has become a part of people's lives whether we like it or not.
I see some of my own friends on there who post their whole lives from doctor's appointments to proclaiming their undying love for their OH because they have brought them a cuppa in bed. But I don't think them sad or unhappy. They're my friends (all 14 of them) and I can stalk my kids. (Grins smugly) It's a platform to shout from. Some people are quiet and some people are noisy. Facebook has become a societal norm. Over a billion people have made it so. Its a message board, just like this one. Only this one is anonymous. If we so wish.
OP, if you don't want any of these women in your life, then you don't have to. Friends come and friends go. But friendship? Now that's a whole different ball game. A true friendship weathers even the most turbulent of storms.0 -

I'm always mildly amused when a grown woman talks about her "best friend". I think it sounds like you're still in the playground - "she's my best friend so I sit next to her"
I have a group of friends, wouldn't say any of them are my best friend and I'm not any of their best friends either but we've all been there for each other at difficult times and that's when it counts most.
I can pick up the phone to any of them and they'll be there in a shot. As I will be for them, no hesitation.
A friend in need is a friend indeed. I treasure my friends.0 -
OP, have you considered that you are a "drama" type person yourself?
Not really, hence me removing the gossip fodder for the woman in the first place, not turning up when requested to stay away on the xmas eve and apologising after the event even though I didnt see that I'd done anything wrong.
Why, do you think I've sought this drama out personally?0 -
Nope, just checking.Sealed pot challange no: 3390

I think we all knew a bunch of girls at school like OP's friends. You know, the ones who thought that they had all the power just because they could decide who was "in" and who wasn't. If you didn't get invited to their birthday parties, you definitely weren't one of the in-crowd.
One of my friends was part of such a group. I've been in a pub with them and listened whilst they made sarky comments about her weight, her hair, her clothes and her family. I actually walked out because I couldn't stand to be in their company, not only were they nasty and cruel, they were also boring and witless. And they're still the same now, one of them had an affair with another's husband but the cuckolded wife is now an outcast, just at a time when she needed her so-called friends.
OP, you don't need "friends" like this.....Delete, delete, delete!!!"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0
