My sister pays around £80pm for a joint membership at the local council (was paying something like £45 or 48 just for herself). I think it includes all gym, classes, swimming pool etc
It seems that all the gyms run by Fusion are that expensive, a bit ridiculous, mine is much cheaper.

£26 a month and a £20 yearly fee. Very basic gym, very dated equipment. No pool/showers/sauna etc.

I keep asking myself why I bother going to this gym when the new glammed up Council gym is only £14 a month or £10ish if you work for the Council which comes with brand spanking new equipment etc.

I was paying £67 per month with Nuffield. It is a great gym with two pools, steam, sauna, classes from 6.30am-8pm and a good cafe serving healthy food. I think they are the best for all round advice and for really helping you commit to a fitness programme. Had everything I needed but I have cancelled for the time being as it is extravagant for me, when I have debts to pay off.

I do lots of long distance walking with Ramblers groups, cost £32 per year and all walks and trips run by volunteers. I love swimming too so will try local authority one - I am new to the area so not sure what it will be like. :D

I also go to salsa classes and events, at around £5-8 a time which is more of a social so I wouldn't say provides essential workout, but better than sitting on sofa.

My friend has recommended online yoga classes. I like yoga but classes are getting a bit steep at around £12-15 for two hours - it adds up.

I'm going to The Gym, for £10.99 a month. I can't remember what my joining fee is. There is no pool, but I have some access to much better swimming locations than any pool in the winter, and much more access in the summer.

I pay £29 p/m by DD (no contract) get full use of all gym memberships in my county, swim, sauna, gyms, fitness classes the lot. However I also have use of 2 free gyms in both my employments (one Prison Service, the other Army Reserves) so I don't know why I bother paying for the council gym.. oh wait. it's full of fitties and the work ones are full of sweaty men. :o

Shall continue to pay for the council gym, however looking at paying for it annually as it works out £4 p/m cheaper.

That's around the price i was paying for my local gym run by Fusion.

I was surprised that it was that much (being a council gym,) but tbh, it really was the cheapest in my area.

I cancelled my membership a few months ago as i was sick of fusion. Anything that needed fixing in the gym would take months and the same issues from 2 years ago had not been fixed.
