Hi BH, a trip to the beach sounds like a great idea. Top up the Vitamin D which always seems to make me feel better and perhaps a little picnic in the sand which means it should be a cheap day out :)
Agree with you and beanielou that bunk beds could be the answer. Mr T direct have a set for £99 and mattresses at £55. Or you could always try your local freecycle group etc for the frame and just buy new mattresses?

Good luck, stay positive and enjoy the beach

Crazy week, I was contacted by a recruitment agent out of the blue as he had a fantastic sounding job with fantastic sounding pay he thought I would be good for...unfortunately the timescale is all a bit quick for me but it felt positive to have been contacted at least!!
DD has a birthday tomorrow, and i have a million things to do to set up for the day and all i want to do is crawl into bed and sleep. Daren't leave it until the morning and attempt to get up early as the daughters seem to have radar for when i am up and trying to do things.
Single parenting really is the ultimate for exhaustion. I do wonder when I am going to wake up from this fog. It is so frustrating - in my head I would love to conquer the world - the reality is all i want to do in the evening is sit down for 5 minutes.
Time to make a list and just try and get through the big ticket items.

Great news about being head hunted.:j

It's always nice to be wanted, even if you can't take up the offer.

Hope you manage to get some well earned rest this weekend.

Hi BH just popped in to read your diary.you're doing amazingly well..not just the MSE part but all the domestic coping as well. Amazing.

Do give yourself a break sometimes and kick back...you are the person the whole family relies on so you can't afford to get ill!;)

Have a great weekend with your DDs

Thank you Brizzle and I2U!! We had a lovely time, I had a v small party for DD with 3 of her friends over. They stayed much longer than for a normal party - it was more like an extended playdate and I think DD loved it. I kept trying to round them up for party games but they weren't overly bothered. One of the party ideas was a lucky dip box - i.e. a plastic crate from work filled with shredded paper, and i wrapped up some tiny little presents and every time they won a game they got to go into the lucky dip box, which they quite enjoyed.

The mattress and bedding is on order. Can't wait for it to be delivered. I think DD will be beyond delighted!! My lovely friend is going to make the frame for me, the cost is very reasonable and it will be totally bespoke.

Other than that, I am trying REALLY hard to be very good. Have decided the only way to crack the CC debt is to do a monthly DD, so will set that up.

Great news about the mattress and fantastic MSE skills getting a friend to make you a bespoke frame :j Hopefully you'll finally be able to get some decent sleep and will be ready to obliterate those CC debts :money:

I'm plodding on with paying off my CC debt. Can't exactly describe it as fun but just keep thinking of the new house I'll hopefully be able to get a mortgage for once I am completely debt free & the end of the dreaded commute :) The DD sounds like a plan. If it goes straight out your account at the beginning of each month you should very quickly get used to it not being there and imagine how nice it will be when it's all paid off and you suddenly have an effective salary increase :j

Thank you for the encouragement!! :)
The MSE stuff is going quite well - i think i am sort of feeling an improvement despite all outgoings this month...due some work expenses now as have not claimed them for the last three months so will put them straight toward CC.
So i was feeling quite good, now feeling not so good as have childcare problem for the daughter at school as her childminder has just cancelled on me. It is so flipping difficult in the country - there just seems to be virtually no available childcare!!

    Crumbs. That's hard.

After school club? Any of her friends she could go to for a few weeks until you get something sorted ?
