7th day of work on the trot - don't feel too good for it either. Looking forward to day off tomorrow. Want to do something nice with the little ones. No other progress to report. Have had no time to phone agent or anything.

Hi there , well busy busy, but I did go and see two other possible rental properties yesterday and inbetween those two asked the agent if I could look at this period property that is for sale...for a complete bargain price. It is AMAZING!!! - but would probably be cold! - it needs a complete overhaul but the basic features are completely in tact, and it's bang smack in the centre of town. I am soo tempted as it would be a great project. I don't have the money obviously but think family would help...Anyway., trying to mull it all over and not be rash! Got another viewing for a rental bungalow tomorrow - it's much further on the outskirts of town than I would like. So we'll see...

The plus side is that the mortgage would be really low. I would at least be paying a mortgage and not renting, and we could have a family home - which I am absolutely craving. And the location is great. And there's stacks of space...

    How's things with you??

Well, thought it might be time for an update. :)
Decided not to buy house as I think it will cost more to do up than it would be worth in the long run - big risk of over-capitalising. In the meanwhile a perfect rental house has come up - a modern box with 3 bedrooms. I am thrilled as it will be warm and in town - so save on petrol and 175 on rent, and on council tax - I'm guessing circa £45 on ctax per month but that's still TBC.
DD1 starts school this month, and I have finally got salary sacrifice for childcare through, so there are BIG savings there. :T
Have secured house and get the keys next Friday - have 2 week overlap period to move in. I need to buy at the very minimum - a fridge/ freezer and a bed for me. I have a lovely friend who is very handy who has offered to make a bed base for me (and also for DD1 who needs a new one) so I have gratefully accepted...so just looking at 2 mattresses now. Have found second hand fridge freezer for £155 locally but am genuinely not sure if this is a good deal or not. Slightly cheaper than the cheapest of the new fridges - but dealer seems unable to provide any nitty gritty info. Hmmm.
Anyway, I am so so happy :)- I think I will FINALLY be able to make a bit of financial progress after nearly 4 years since DD1 was born. :T:T:T:T:T:T:T :j:j
Will be reassessing phone deals and all energy deals when I move. May as well do car insurance at the same time too!

Well, I bought a fridge freezer today...it was on special reduced from £449 to £330...turned out the model on show was the last one, and it had a ding in it so they took it down to £300...I tried to haggle for a bit more but think I may not be a very good haggler! Anyway - I am really really pleased with it as it will be perfect for us - loads of freezer space at last - yippee!! My current fridge is an undercounter fridge (it came with the house) and it has one shelf for a 'freezer' and is absolutely hopeless and very old. It will make SUCH a difference to me to be able to cook in bulk and freeze stuff. :j:j Looked for a TV at the same time - but no good deals really.
