Dusty. Happy Birthday!
Living room done
Bedroom done.
Dailies done.
Went shopping with DD. I'm pleased she is feeling a bit better after her friends funeral on Tuesday. He was only 36. She seems to have someone she works with interested in her. I was giving him the once over when I went to meet her. Lol. She deserves something good happening for her.
Dishes and sides in the kitchen done and bin emptied.
Hugs spoons and sticks where needed0 -
Happy birthday Dusty
Pollybear are you getting on any better with the walking?
Mountains of DW/WM/hoovering to do
Hi Hex, I still find I have to force myself to go out. I could so easily be a hermit! I didn't go out for six days when it snowed because I was so scared of falling down, but I got back into it OK. I walk for about 45 minutes - 1 hr, depending on how many dogs I meet
This morning was a good one, a lovely mild and sunny day and I met at least six dogs and had two kisses and an ear wash (staffies are excellent at ear washes). I think I only do a couple of miles but it's better than nothing. I just thought I would grow to love it but I think I am basically just a lazy person... 0 -
Pollybear, I must admit I only do things if I can see the point. I walk for exercise, not for pleasure but I do enjoy it on a sunny day. Uphill, in the slow I really would rather not.
I hoovered downstairs, and I need to iron for boring meetings tomorrow (see what I mean?)'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
I've not been out since last Friday when it was parents evening for the older 3.. other than a 5 minute trip to opticians to get Squeaks glasses sorted on Saturday.. I never go anywhere. tomorrow I have a nail appointment and Saturday we are going to toys r us.
I hate going out I'd much rather sit at home in my pj's with scruffy hair lolLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Good evening all xx
Sorry, haven't read the thread since this morning. I had a meltdown this morning before we went out....DD has been nagging to get some wheels that clip on to shoes ............on and on and again this morning,so I took my coat off, put my bag away and said we weren't going............it's not Christmas or her birthday and she couldn't get on with the heelies she had a while back..........I sat on the floor in the downstairs loo crying..........told her to tidy her room or go out to play..........went upstairs , she is sat on the chair watching telly..........I lay on the bed crying..........shouted at her again............put some clothes away and sat in front of the telly myself!!! Decided it was a nice day and I didn't want to waste it, gave her clothes to put away and get ready to go out, but under no circumstances was she to ask for ANYTHING!!!! Day went quite well, she did ask for one of the stupid bird whistle things but we were on our way home so she took a no quite well!!!
Sorry for rant, nearly came on this morning, but thought I might break the laptop with tears!!!
Thanks for reading if you got this far xx0 -

My frying pan is cremated and has melted onto the hob. How on earth do I clean it off?
I'm so relieved the house hasn't gone up in flames but furious with them.
OMG! I thought induction was supposed to 'know' there's nothing in the pan (altho i can't for the life of me figure out why, unless it detects it is getting too hot). Did you manage to sort it ok?
I got an induction hob last July and have been in love ever since. We were saving to buy a house but it's beyond us, so I used some of the hard saved money i put aside for my 'dream kitchen' to get a hob and over the counter oven for our rental. People will laugh at what I do, but it cost me a lot - and I am terrified of scratching it etc, so I always use it with a sheet of Lidl (=cheap) baking parchment under the pans. Works a treat. The pan sensor etc all still works fine like that. And when finished just throw away if messy or reuse. Tada ... lovely clean shiny hob still.
I am quite traumatised by the idea of a melted pan on the hob. Hope you got it sorted OK.
It seems impossible to find a small frying pan that works tho :-( I only want to do meself a little fried egg ... without nonstick.
Toochoosey -- Sorry to hear you had such a bad run-in with DD, kids can be a pain - I know, I was one! Sadly, our babies are all four-legged, but can be a real pain when they put their mind to it.
I love the flylady idea - yeah late to the party as always! Have done practically no housework the past week or so due to coughing aggravating an old rib injury and meaning I could barely move most of this week so far - but today at last was a better day! Yeah, must be cos its valentine's day! DH bought a lovely tulip bouquet and I was better enough to do nice canelloni dinner and pancakes:j I do like my pancakes.
Hope everyone (eventually) has had a good valentine's day - if no someone special about ... It doesn't matter. Your happiness depends on you, don't let it depend on others. So enjoy this eve, even if it only means treating yourself by having a lovely drink and some chocolate and watching your fave movie with your pet hamster!
Looking forward (how can I say that about housework??) to getting with it next week.0 -
DS3 had me in tears last night so I know how it is. Though mine are all 20 somethings. His room is like a rubbish tip, and he has brought down four loads of dirty clothes. Or maybe clean clothes that have migrated to the floor:Dtoochoosey wrote: »Thanks Poohbear, I told her to tidy up her floor when we got back, she said she has but I haven't been up yet as I fear another meltdown!!!
