    Oooh, well done on the wine. If we could make a decent Chardonnay, we would save a fortune.....
    Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
    Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

    I have been a bit manic today. Got a load of things started. Will I ever finish them?
    The latest homebrew is a triumph of sauvignon blanc loveliness. A quid a bottle and no cash to Mr Osborne.

    I'm on my way - and there's a lot of us :D.

    Heck, can I come too???? A bottle or 2 of wine would go down nicely right now.

    And I'm with you and Lois re the kids too. ;-)

    Am grateful for:
    1 spending lovely day out with my 3 year old today
    2 watching said 3 year old bottle feeding a calf
    3 watching in awe, how effectively said 3 year old dispatched a sausage roll
    4 it's Friday
    5 my mum, Whois mad as a brush, but we love her lots.

    Today we have been decent parents I think.

    DD1 got taught to make soup and bread. DD2 went to ballet. DS got to play endlessly and probably destructively with the eject mechanism of a toy CD player. The girls got to decorate their own pizzas for dinner.

    Added to this, DH filled two log baskets, endless washing was done, 23 litres of wine were bottled and the slightly posher Pinot Grigio was started off (£1.50 a bottle). I also paid the water bill (£14 for the quarter) got to love having a well. Three ponies telephoned about, of whom two were unsuitable and one owner hasn't called back. Actually one possible-but-not-very-likely.

    Phew!

    Today I am grateful for

    * sunshine. Finally.
    * fresh air, always lifts the mood.
    * supermarket delivery (though shame on Waitrose, who don't here).
    * my mahoosive washing machine (13kilos or some crazy size)
    * MSE.

    Hiya.
    You need a fermenter, bung, air lock and syphon. You also need some steriliser but I don't think that's much different from Milton.
    Im not sure what make the actual kit was but it was a 7 day 5 gallon one.

    I got a syphon with a tap but tbh it would be easier with plain tubing. You just sterilise your gear bung the juice and yeast and water in, put the airlock on top, wait until it stops bubbling then add a couple of sachets of stuff then bottle it.

    ETA the moree expensive pinot grigio kit is made by Beaverdale.
