    Ooohh i used to do home winemaking about 27 years ago before having kids. Got rid of all the equipment though. Might just look at that again :)

    Hope you feel better soon Alchemilla x

    You had better start saving bottles and soaking the labels off. I forgot to mention corks and a corker but it all came in the £30.

    Went to dermatology to get a mole looked at this morning. They were super efficient. All ok.

    Spent £25 in Lidl but got groceries, three hi vis vests (for the car) and a play mat/rug for Baby's room which he is more pleased with than anyone was ever pleased with anything.

    Kids were manic today, totally "spring is sprung".

    £113 on diesel, but £4 off with a voucher.

    Also trying to arrange a speech therapy referral for Baby. He is two soon and CBA to say much.

    Called about a few ponies, including one whose owner had been told by God to give it up.

    Today I am grateful for
    * the baby who was "cured" of H.I.V.
    * a log fire
    * sunshine
    * that none of my moles are dodgy
    * for earl grey tea.

    Tell you a secret... I'm afraid it's not Blakes 7 (something I'm not familiar with although intend to become given the intrigue)

    It's very cunning... it's the backward version of my shortened nicknamey name. Natalie = Natz = ztan
    Genius huh?

    Sorry if this is a stupid question, but can you re-use screw top bottles instead of corks? Thanks alchemilla

    I asked the same question of my Dad who was the homebrew king in the 70s and 80s - even made a bottle from grapes he had grown once - no it isn't advisable because when you unscrew them you break the seal. Although, it depends how long you expect the wine to be in the bottle before it is consumed. If it's not long then you could probably put it in fizzy pop bottles...

    Not a bad day today, though Year 11 irritated me a bit with their insistence that I needed to give them a reason why we weren't going to work outside. The perils of a classroom on the field.

    Shared a lift with DH which saved a tenner on petrol. Made the call to HV for a speech therapy referral for Baby. No other big news, but the DDs came home from Kingfishers with chocolates for me for Mothering Sunday and promptly ate them.:rotfl:

    Today I am grateful for
    * duty in the sunshine instead of sleet
    * the meeting didn't run over after school
    * the children are all cheerful
    * got to be chauffeured to work by DH
    *jellybabies (I fed them to Y11). Might have had a few myself.
