I have just made a small payment to Natwest Loan and was also able to transfer money on line. Rang them up and explained about Stepchange and wanted to make a small payment on loan and they couldn't have been more helpful. Am wondering if I really needed to change banks.0 -
Personally it was the best move for me as my overdraft was included in my dmp so i didnt want my income suddenly swallowed up as the cancelled my overdraft, i was then able to budget better. Good luckLBM Dec 2012 total debt 33,889 :eek:dmp started March 2013 DFD Dec 2024

I honestly would not risk it. One nice person at NatWest may not stop another not so nice NatWest employee offsetting in your account.
The golden rule is do not bank where you have debt.LBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Hi all just tried to log onto hsbc to check balances and it appears they have deactivated my account! Charming!
If they have defaulted you and passed it to collections, this routinely happens. So it could be a good thingLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Hello All and welcome justapensioner to the board.
Sorry to hear Mossop that you can't get access to your old accounts. My bank did that with me with my main account but left the staff one I don't use so who knows what logic these banks have.
I got a letter today from SC about sorting out a review which I thought was kind of strange as I have only made one payment so far. However I was going to ring them up next month as I got small pay rise - the first time in 4 years - and I was going to go over to 12 months for the council tax, I just want to get all my final figures together first so I don't keep changing it. They will have to wait!
Hope all is well with everyone and life on DMP is not too much of a struggle at the moment.
