Morning DMP'ers. I received a letter from Tesco agreeing to my DMP plan and they also explained they would still be issuing a default notice etc to prevent any further charges or interest on my account, and that I did not need to respond to these.
I have now received those letters and also my latest statement 20 Feb which has interest added. My DMP doesnt start until 25 March, i.e that is the date they get the first payment.
Is it worth me querying this interest charge or will it only be frozen once the DMP begins?I'm a greenfield sight for sore eyes, and sore eyes are just needing the light, the shapes, and the shadows of the space we share, before it splits into Thin Air.0 -

Hi, I have also received exactly the same letter (although no default letters received yet). My DMP also starts on 25th March too and they have also added interest to my latest statement. Don't know if it will do any good but I have sent them a letter yesterday asking them to confirm if they are able to freeze interest going forward and also if they would consider reimbursing the interest they have charged and reiterating my intentions to repay via the plan. Will have to wait and see now!
The advice I received from the forum was it wouldn't do any harm to try.0 -
All my cc debts had interest added until the dmp was set up, I don't think it is unusual for your original debt to go up during this time. Mine totalled about 1% overall. But I guess you can ask...Christmas 2020 £109

Thanks TTFTM and GUO for advice re Hfx. I have a go with the FOS and let folks know the outcome. As you say, worth a shot regardless.
MBs - :j:j big up for the leaping smilies and your windfall -however much that may turn out to be. My OH has been collecting the commenorative 50ps for a while, but sadly no kew garden versions. Sometimes though even one of the other commenmorative styles goes for a few pounds and all adds up.LBM: March 2013 / DMP Start: 1 July 2013 / 14 Creditors

Hi,
Just thought I would post that tomorrow is the end of my first 'budget month'. My DMP starts in March but we worked to our budget this month too. Feeling really positive. We have managed the whole month without the use of credit cards which is a first in I don't know how many years. I may only have £1 left in my purse but feeling good!
Unfortunately it is a £1 coin and NOT 2 Kew Garden 50p's - ah well!
Lidl has also become my shop of choice - can't believe how much you can save in comparison to my previous Tesco shop!
My debt free date may be 2027 but at least I now have my sanity back :j0
