My DMP is set up and ready to go, my first payment is 10th March, I find it really encouraging reading how well everyone else is doing!
It's payday tomorrow and I'm a nervous wreck about payday loans taking all my wage as some haven't responded to my continuous payment authority cancellations, I've cancelled them all in writing and cancelled them all with the bank, aswell as writing to them with regards the DMP, think I'm going to be up all night checking the bank, hoping to transfer it to the (empty) savings account before anyone else has chance to get to it 😁
Well done everyone, have a feeling I may find this forum useful 😊

  • Hi all,

I'm not saying this to boast, just a tip which I thought I'd pass on...

I was just getting changed into my PJ's and emptied my pockets of the change I got earlier today and had forgotten about.

I purposefully asked for ten 50p's (which was a little embarrassing and felt compelled to make up a lie about my son's 5th birthday party and wanting to give his friends some sweetie money, total fabrication as I don't even have a kid) and I have a pretty much mint (as far as I'm concerned) kew gardens 50p!!!

So, they're out there - just ask for some 50p's in your change, it all goes the same way so it's a bit like a free lottery ticket :)

and yet another spanner in the works...

first pay date from new well paid job and wages haven't hit my account... apparently 3 weeks is not enough notice to set up a new payee or payroll member...

all payments bounced which means fees coming out of my ears ..... rent payment bounced which means I'm going to court ref my suspended court eviction notice..... got an email in my inbox from work saying they will raise a cheque and get it sent out to me - well that should finally credit to my account by maybe Friday of next week (so no idea how I can actually afford to get to work next week)...

why cant things just run as they are meant to?? :(
  • I've just come to let off some steam. Received a letter from isme today demanding payment and if I couldn't pay to phone asap, which I did. I was spoken too like a criminal, she made me feel so ashamed demanding to know why we were using sc and when I told her if she wanted that information she could use my ref and phone sc herself she went crazy! Anyway I put the phone down in tears and phoned sc who have advised me to ignore all contact from them now as they won't be dealing with sc direct anyway. Big learning curve for me today........:undecided

    Hi,
I have been on DMP (newbie) first payment made on 25th Feb, I too have ISME & very accounts both went to internal DCA's NDR i think. I have have received X2 letters saying they are now dealing with account, but no phone calls as of yet. Best advice is just to write a letter to all creditors advising you want contact in writing only. You do not have to speak to creditors on the phone if its distressing you, but do not ignore the letters. Speak to SC if you have any queries they have been great for me. I too have been petrified over the last few weeks but maybe I am lucky I have very few calls and only a few letters. It is only v early days I suppose. Good Luck, there is great advice and support on here..

Welcome and good luck, it will get better in time just need time to adjust to a new beginning. If you have cancelled all CPA's with the bank you should be fine.

I started my DMP in Feb, just had my first statement from SC. I am in this for the long haul. At the beginning I felt a complete wreck did not kno what to expect from creditors, the majority of them have agreed to the plan some I still havent heard a dickie bird from I have 15 creditors. I think its not uncommon not to hear anything from some of your creditors just some seem more organised and willing to assist than others.

Thanks HRKL14 :) Sc said as soon as I receive a letter from NDR I can relax a little. Apparently they are so much better to deal with as the isme/very collection people just want the money, they won't actually deal with sc. I sent letter to all my creditors explaining the situation and attached a token payment but I've heard they can be difficult to deal with and they like to scaremonger is why sc have told me to ignore there letters. I'm guessing it's so they transfer my accounts to NDR. I'm so pleased there's someone else dealing with the same companies as it's been very scary over the past few weeks
