First day went well. Have asked my recruitment lady to email me just to confirm hours worked and amount paid, and she's done so, and I've forwarded that, along with my contract to SC.
They also said on the phone this morning that I didn't need my bank details for them to activate the plan - as soon as they have all the information they need otherwise, they will start writing to the companies and I can amend DD details when they are needed, so that was nice.
It is looking like an April start now though :(

An April start could be a good thing:

    1) It gives you a chance to make another month of token payments, saving a bit of an emergency fund and possibly bringing defaults closer.

    2) It allows you to practice your budget and make any last minute changes before you start properly

  • I want to see it in black and white when the DMP starts and not using my paper and printer ink ;)

It's things like this that can keep you going.

I am currently requesting a printed statement every day for our endowment policy because it's vanished online ;)

  • First token payments will be landing today. Having a sweepstake with the OH about when the first phone call comes. Even though every letter says we will only communicate via written correspondence.

I say the first one will ring today, she says tomorrow. Let the game begin.
  • Not been on here for a few months as everything settled down after DMP kicked in. All interest frozen except Barclaycard, who say I am paying too much to be considered for 0%. Had a FOS claim in my favour against Halifax, and even a result in a complaint against NatWest after they failed to update OH's customer records when they agreed the DMP and so haven't progressed her down the same track as me re Default etc. Only realised when she got a letter saying that they were getting ready to pass her details to Power2 Contact who would visit at home to discuss options and retrieve cards/chequebooks etc at a cost of £125!! Ended up with an apology and a guarantee that they would set her records in line with mine and £100 in recompense for the distress of receiving such a letter.

However, we have now received letters from NatWest again saying that the account is being dealt with by Triton Credit Services and that they have agreed to a monthly payment from StepChange of £64.80 per month. This is despite the fact that SC have been sending £101 per month since we started in June. Do I need to worry? Don't want to contact them to discuss it in case they use the 'Barclaycard' argument that we are paying too much and reinstate interest. Initially NW didn;t freeze interest as they said we were overpaying them and paying them more proportionately than other creditors according to SC figures. Confused

Another prime example of creditors having no set rules.. I started my dmp in November, Hfx passed my debt to a dca in January and never charged me interest...
