    Good news.

Every day after deciding to apply for a DMP is a day forward in the right direction, not static, not backwards, but going forwards and looking forward to a new life :)

    Hi Ian

Looks like they to at least try -Your Insolvency Practitioner has an obligation to maximise returns to creditors, which includes investigating any and all assets.

Thanks HH for your excellent advice as always! Their charges ended up being £125 in total, so as I'm not paying for it, they can do the work!

I'm a firm believer in milestones too. Something to celebrate can make a real motivational difference.

Have just noticed we reached 45% paid off last month :j

OK This was a new one for me. Yesterday in the post we got an odd looking card from Santander saying they would be calling our home next week with a contact number if not convenient.
Well once I'd calmed myself down and repeated the DMP mantra and convinced myself they couldn't show up and 'inspect' the house or anything I gave them a call (had visions of hiding behind sofa lol!!).

I stated on a DMP and queried why they were contacting me.

She said that they were trying to find out if anything had changed at all in our situation. I told her we had only made one payment (had forgotten 2nd one went out at beginning of the month!) To which her reply was that they last spoke to us in October and would be 'touching base' with us every month to see if anything had changed!!!
I know I was behind with payments and struggling- that is why we went on DMP. I know it will affect our credit rating- we went into DMP knowing all that.
Is this normal?? It is going to be a very long 11 years ( hoping it will be less!!) or so if I have to talk to them every month!!:o

Write and tell them that StepChange are administering your DMP so all future communication should be with them.

If telephone communication persists, you can write again and state you will only accept future contact in writing and will consider any further phone calls to be harassment, which will be reported to the FOS.
