  • hi all
has any of you had problems with late payment fees being added to your accounts as your payment doesnt leave dmp provider until after the creditors say its due, i know ive only paid one month but my debts have gone up by 150 quidwith late fees and interest still on accounts :( feeling deflated

    Hi

There are templates on national debtline website. Write to them and tell them they are adding to your date. The date SC make the payment is out of your control and they need to recognise this so ask them to refund charges and change payment date going forward.

If you don't get action complain and if no resolution complaint to the FOS via a telephone call.

Good luck and please let us know how you get on.

    Hi Hopeful

I know it's disappointing when things don't go quite as swimmingly as we'd like. Just to add to HH's useful post, I didn't accrue late fees but I did run into issues with Barclays because the due date was before the SC payments. I rang em up, explained, firmly, that the date was fixed by SC and Barclays did change it, so there is hope.

Hope it gets sorted for you, don't get disheartened.

    Another little update...

3 statements in today.. RBS, Halifax and M & S, all with no interest or charges..:T

So that's 4 out of 9 at 0%.. Creation I already know about so just my 3 Natwest one's to hear from and Cap One....

On the downside due to the interest and charges whilst setting up the dmp my SC balances are all wrong and the total may well go up this month instead of down.. but roll on to next month and I should see some difference...

DMP best thing I've ever done.. well financially anyway..

Good Luck everyone hope your enjoying your weekends and getting ready for Christmas..

Good luck Puzz. Mine went up something like 2% in the first month but I have never looked back since.

  • Another one here who found our debt went up in the first month. I was very upset and totally disheartened, ready to give up almost immediately but some advice and support from this thread soon put me right. From that month on, our debt has significantly decreased every month and I have fought tooth and nail to get all interest and charges stopped, and refunded where applicable.

You will get there Puzzcat and we will be cheering you on and supporting you with anything you need.

Very well said Sazzie. We need to keep the thread alive so that it is here to support others as it was for us.
